Favorite Method of Brewing Coffee

Everyone has their own favorite way to brew. What's yours and why?

I love the Pour Over Method. It lets me get the right temp and speed of the water. :)

A more accurate answer for me is whatever is easiest. if I'm out, I'll buy a cup. If home, it's a K-Cup. Quick and easy with little mess.

The water can't get hot enough to scorch your grounds. Unlike a French Press, you get no sediment at all. The coffee is fuller in flavor with no bitterness (although "weaker" than what you get from a press).

On top of that, they are just really cool.

We now use Cusinart similiar to the K cup. You can fill your own coffee into it but the French press is really the way to go.

Technically, I guess you could call it percolation, but the end result is infinitely better. You know, like more than 100000000000000% better.

Otherwise, pour-over.

Gonna have to look into the vac pot ... it sounds interesting. Thanks for the hint Jackal!

K-Cups are my favorite method because they are so convenient.

Interesting... mine really depends on the day/situation:

Weekday mornings: Use a Grind & Brew - Still gives you a good tasting coffee but is really convenient. Best balance of freshness, taste, and convenience.
Weekend mornings: French Press. Definitely the best tasting, but a little more effort.
Other random times: K-Cup. It's nice for a quick here or there, don't need to worry about having to clean it out, or how much I make, etc.

Right now I use the K-Cups. Love it! For back up I have a Percolator.
I see there are alot of you drink coffee, how about Tea? I also love tea. Im a huge fan of long leaf teas.

Depends on if I just want coffee to wake me up or to enjoy the taste.

In the morning I use a Mr. Coffee or Kureg machine, but to enjoy a cup I will cold brew or french press it.

since as long as I can remember my grandmother used to make coffee with an Italian pot. It is so good.. try to used different methods but it never taste like it should. i guess I'm used to do it the Italian way. easy, affordable and really good!

I have a Bialetti also. Espresso old-school.
Then French press for regular coffee and also a simple Melitta cone on occasion.

Since I am the closest to Seattle I feel obligated to tell you how I do it. I get the store brand grounds at the grocery store and use a cheap drip coffeemaker.

you may be right. i try to get my co-workers to try it and they faces look like i was trying to explain how to make a rocket from Lowes materials... i guess some people are just happy with Mr. Coffee.

Mr. Coffee makes coffee taste like rubber to me.

I was very pleased with investing in a more expensive grinding coffee maker. While it's still not as good as French Press, buying whole beans and having it grind them then brew it makes the coffee taste about 1,000 times better than store-bought generic pre-ground coffee which I don't think I can ever go back to.

I have a Cuisinart grind and brew at the river house and a Cuisinart 12 cup maker and a burr grinder at home and love em they make a great cup of coffee

What skore129 said is true, especially as it relates to relatives, I'd say. We took our own french press to a Thanksgiving dinner a couple of years ago, thereby committed an unpardonable sin apparently, and I guess we really offended the host. I just couldn't stand that nasty electroperk coffee they made. They can have it if they want it, I want something better to enjoy after a good meal. Even at Golden Corral they come and ask you if you would like a complimentary coffee, and it's not bad. Not sure what they use, but ok for drip.

I seriously miss the Dunkin Donuts coffee. For some reason it always tasted amazing. Time to visit the midwest/east coast I think....

I use a variety of methods depending on the time. When I'm getting up for work at 04:00 I use the drip machine that I set up the night before to come on with a timer. At other times I use an espresso maker, but I really like a cup of old school percolator coffee. It just has a flavor that I like and that can't be duplicated any way that I know of. It depends on the quality of the coffee used though as to how good it is...

If it's coffee, and it's good, I am not too picky as to how it is brewed. Bring on the java and a great stick!!
