Random quote: Frank opened a cigar box. Cuban Cohibas. He pressed one with his index finger and shook his head. "Guy spends four, five hundred bucks a box but doesn't know enough to put them in a humidor." He sighed, thinking about the hours of good smoking shot to hell. - Robert Andrews, from his novel, A Murder of Honor

Amazing job geeks. I know how much these cigars will mean to the troops. I bombed my brothers squadron last year in Afghanistan with only 400 sticks and you should've seen their faces in the picks. Great job Nathan

It is really my pleasure. A lot of time and effort is put into it, but it is also the least I can do.

I was wondering if, in the past years you guys ran this, if you usually got feedback from the troops?

Pics, stories or whatever, it would be cool to actually hear or read about that.

The first year I ran it, I received a flag that had been flown over a base in Afghanistan. The second year, someone that received a portion of the cigars joined the site, but I haven't heard much from him since. I think mpurtle01 knew him.

This year, I'm including a note that has who contributed and a request, should they have the time, to join the site, send pictures, and/or let us know that they were enjoyed.

When I coordinated a similar effort a few years ago, my wife received an email via her principal at the time from one of the mothers of the troops who had received the care packages that we put together. They were very appreciative, but I never did receive any pictures or any other word from those guys or I would have passed it on. At that time, I had been including some business cards that Paul gave to me hoping that they might be able to join the site, but I don't think I've seen any of those guys around here.
