Having one of those super lethargic days at work, in need of something to keep me awake. Best comment wins the holiday sampler from either Nub or Oliva, their choice.

Contest: Tell me a story about something cigar related, maybe your first favorite, a celebrity encounter, your best smoker friend, the good ol days, an alien encounter, anything real or fiction. Can be a poem, a song, a joke, a haiku, whatever you want. Have fun!

There once was a man from Wisconsin
When he smoked his cigars he was lonesome
He then found a brotherhood of Geeks
His cigar smoking doubled in weeks
He used to smoke Thompson cigars
Those have since then turned into yard-gars
Cigar purchases start to cost too much money
He had to hide incoming packages from his honey
Then came the virtual Herf's
Be sure that you don't call them Gerf's
He now spends most nights smoking cigars in front of a computer screen
When his wife comes in his den she turns green
This man is not lonesome anymore
He has more cigar buddies than he could ask for
Next year he will head to Columbus on a cigar adventure
Yes, this man goes by the name 05venturer

Yeah I think Kent ran away with it like one of those little Ethiopian dudes in a marathon. :-)  I don't have many cigar stories but you cant melt my dad and pour him on a cigar when he was a kid he got caught smoking and his dad and uncle made him smoke ole green cigars till he got sick.
You should hurry up and acquire the cigar habit. It's one of the major happiness's. And so much more lasting than love, so much less costly in emotional wear and tear.
Aldous Huxley

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace.

I smoked a cigar on the "Top of the World (Trade Center) observation deck in 1992. My then wife worked in the twin towers (WTC) and, as I got to go there quite often, I once smoked a cigar (did not finish it but still) on the exterior observation deck of the then south tower. It was a windless day (that did not happen often up there) and I never got caught but did not finish it either. I just wanted to be able to say I had done so. I also joined the 1/8th of a mile high club around those days in that same tower but that's another story altogether.

That was in 1992, before the 93 explosion and the dreadful events of September 2001, but, so that you know, she survived both incidents. Although we had been divorced for a while in 2001, I still inquired of her well being and found out she had not come in to work that morning, just pure luck. Many others were not that lucky, may the rest in peace.

I smoked a Cuban  Cohiba on top of the Eiffel Tower with a law school buddy during my visit to Pros in 2005. One of the best cigars/views/times ever!  Story done. I win ;-)

Alright guys, good job to those who participated, but there's no denying it. Kent is apparently our resident Shakespeare and will be rewarded as such. Might I entice you to a Part Deux for a few hitchhikers? lol Very impressive bud, I'll send your end out after you get back from your vacay! Have Fun!
