This is why it's so hard to get Geek Critique volunteers.

So having been here a while now I am always happy to participate in a critique as I get to try something new and interesting for free, plus it gives me a chance to sit down and enjoy a smoke with out interruption as I always tell the family I have to be able to concentrate on the cigar to give it a fair review and I will need a couple hours alone. As a parent of six those couple hours are like a mini vacation. Well I have volunteered and been selected for one of the August industry sponsored critiques and Brad (Vroomp) is helping coordinate it. A box arrives today with what I thought was the cigar for the critique, and I was right, but in true Geek fashion Brad decided to turn the critique into a bombing run. Once the smoke had cleared and the ringing in my ears subsided this is what I found. Thanx Brother, I never liked that mailbox anyway.
I am not concerned about what you think as I can tell you don't do it often.

Sweet Man.  With 6 kids running around you should find a way to smoke an average cigar in about 13 minutes.

I used to sit outside all night and drink bud lite and smoke Marlboros and everyone thought I was a bum. Now I sit outside all night and drink craft beers and smoke cigars and everyone thinks I have class.

LOL that sounds like a great deal for you. Not sure it explains why its hard to get volunteers. But I dont volunteer cause they will have to cross the boarder, and that can add extra time and be costly with taxes and duty.

Awesome BOMB!
I enjoyed doing my first critique for July. It was fun. But, I can't wait for the reviews to post so I can compare them. I'm hoping I'm to to far off base!! :-0

Brad got me too. He made sure the cigar to be critiqued wasn't lonely on the trip south, sending four body guards.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated, Brad!  photo Brad1_zpsdt9kt33j.jpg

It can be a bit tough to keep the budget on track for cigars but by making certain sacrifices I can still afford my cigars. I only feed 5 of them dinner each night and one goes with out on a rotating basis so it's fair, then on Sunday every one eats. Figuring a meal at about 5 bucks that gives me about 30 buck's a week or 120 a month which is respectable enough to keep me in cigars and it's with minimal sacrifice by the kid's.
