It appears the FDA's new regulations have put a screeching halt to manufacturers and vendors donating cigars to our troops:  http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/cigars-for-the-troops/2291318

I haven't had the chance to contribute to the amazing work that is done on this website as of yet, but it is shocking to hear what the FDA are trying to do here!

Just another fine example of what happens when our government over reaches. Sure there is probably an easy fix, but until the FDA got involved it didn't need to be fixed.
I am not concerned about what you think as I can tell you don't do it often.

Folks, if you want to help, in addition to supporting the Cigars for Troops initiative here at Geeks, also search out your local Cigars For Warriors donation center and drop off all those cigars you know you'll never smoke.  We have over 200 donation centers nationwide and looking to add more all time time.  http://cigarsforwarriors.org/stores/

I use to think our Country was headed towards socialism, but this is a communistic ruling. This should not be within the realm of an agency's power!

yup. they can't even let someone smoke a sample before ordering hundreds of boxes for their store. they can only sell them one. and the penny thing is ruled out as it states something in legal speak about it being a fair market price.

I contacted my senator a few months back about this.  His response? He was sponsoring the legislation. Guess who isn't getting my vote...

Your vote matters not to your senator.  Plenty of low information voters and welfare recipients, and people looking for goodies who will cast a vote for him. They outnumber us now.

In general, the penny thing would have to be ruled out, or you would be violating a lot of fair trade rules concerning predatory business practices.
