I prefer CBID.  Not that CigarAuctioneer is  a bad site, they just do not offer some of the cigars that I enjoy very often.   When they do, recently they have a minimum starting bid.  Point, my DPG blue labels, one of my favorite cigars, is rarely offered on Cigar Auctioneer.  They are right now, the Delicias, listed with a starting bid of $99 and $109.  They normally end at around that price on CBID..  Minimum bids just to get what you want?   I dont know if they are using this as a trial and error thing,  testing the waters, but they are trying to start the bidding at more than I am willing to bid at, there are better deals out there.

Another one of their latest gimmicks, signed boxes.  WTF?  I am smoking the cigars, who cares if the box has a signature on it.  A box of series V is on there now at $155, interested?  Another site you can buy them outright (unsigned) at $113.  Send me the cigars you can keep the box

Sounds like the Maker's Mark Calipari-signed bottle deal!  Have you noticed minimum bids starting higher on that site?  JR recently raised theirs on the Daily Dutch Auction.

I anyplace where I get the best deal.  I got all my favorites lined up and I just go thru them and check to see who has the best deals going.  CBID owns me, Joes Cigars is coming up the rail with Cigar Monster trailing by a length.

In looking for the best prices I check both sites for what is on auction.  Cigar auctioneer previously had alot of house blends and some brand cigars listed.  You rarely saw Pepins, of which I like.  Now that they list them, they list a starting bid, which is high by my standards.  I noticed several others that listed higher starting bids, cigars they didnt used to have on action very often.  Just my .02 cents, I am going where the deals are.  Why would someone pay msrp or close to it on an auction site?  Crazy

Got a few minutes? take a tour through their site, you wlll see what I am referring to.  My Father #3, signed box, currently at $209...... :hitme:

I signed up for cigar auctioneer, made a few bids (and lost), but really, they didn't have nearly the depth or variety that cigarbid has.

Both.  They carry different things and you can get good deals if you bid smart (i.e. ignore special auctions like signed boxes) and know what brands to watch for.

I'm a member on and have bought off of CBid, CigarAucioneer and ThompsoncigarAuctions. I prefer CBid, they have more cigars, more auctions, more variety. But I always look at the other 2 for deals. Case in point: I bought my box of 2005 Camacho Liberty off of ThompsoncigarAuctions last year; that box was 4 years out of production, it was very odd that Thompson was selling it.

I like both. You can get great deals if you're patient enough on either site.

Ditto.  The best price on what I want gets the nod.  I check auctions before purchases and will only place bids on an auction at the last minute, FTW, if my winning bid is a better price then elsewhere.

I have noticed that Famous' prices -- not just @ Auctioneer but overall, have risen recently.

I, too, have bought off all three.  However, I've spent the most on CBID, by far....

hey it could be worse, I could be buying socks, or shirts, or........shoes !

There are just so many good deals on Cbid !

ThompsoncigarAuctions all start at $1, but somehow - like cbid lately - seem to reach ridiculous prices quickly. I have heard that cigar smoking has been on the rise since the economy tanked ... cheaper per hit than going to the movies I guess.  If true, maybe that's what is going on

Cigar Bid.  Why mess with a good thing?  For non-auction cigars I will check specials on several sites.

However Cigar Bid and Cigars International have such excellent customer service that they have made me a loyal customer.  In the rare instance that I have a problem they are very prompt in rectifying it and making it nearly effortless on my part.

Shukpaw

CBid.  Yet I am still waiting for this excellent customer service others seem to be getting.
