The Cigar: Hammer & Sickle Tradicion Serie Churchill

The Specs:

Wrapper: Connecticut Shade
Binder: Dominican Republic
Filler: Dominican Republic
Country of Origin: Dominican Republic
Strength: Mild-Medium to Medium
Size: 7" x 48

Due Date: Sunday, September 25, 2022

The Hype: This was a Cigar Aficionado Top 25 pick in 2015 (coming in at No. 11). As the brand name indicates, Hammer + Sickle has opted for tradition over trend with its TradiciĆ³n Serie Churchill. It isn't a scaled up, modern interpretation of a Churchill, as others have created, but stays within traditional parameters. Eric Hanson, who released his first Hammer + Sickle brand in 2010, has adopted the symbol of Russia as the cigar's logo. He points out that the hammer and sickle does not represent the Soviet Union (which incorporated a star), but symbolizes Russia's industrial north and agrarian south. For him, it's a heritage symbol and not political.

Kevin has enlisted a few reviewers already and has room for 2 more volunteers. Initially, volunteers should be Veteran status or higher. This review will be due by September 25, so please, take into account your schedule and only volunteer if you are prepared to turn it in on time. If you are interested, please indicate so in the forum below and Kevin will make the final selection. A note from Kevin: "These sticks have been stored in a temp / humidity controlled Plastic Tote for the past few months but they are still in the box as sealed by the manufacturer. Basically - this will be a review ROTT - so we should get reviewers that are otherwise not affected or altered by storage conditions or aging."

Note: A reviewer who posts their review late will receive neutral feedback. A reviewer who does not post at all will receive negative feedback. There are always exceptions to the rule and a reasonable excuse for tardiness or a no show will be respected and thus not counted against the reviewer. Thanks again to klamm143 for providing the cigar. And thank you to the reviewers.

OK Brothers - Here is a copy of a post (Otter) sent to me back when I made a purchase of 6 boxes of these sticks - at that time they were out of maduros - and the distributor was "burning the brand" I'm sure due to the Russia - Ukraine conflict I found it interesting that the cigars were made at Davidoff. Otter says they are a good morning smoke with coffee so if you know Otter - you know he knows what he is talking about. ME----well, I will have to stick to the Vodka "gut busters" maybe a coffee liquor with vodka to compliment this stick????

THANKS TO OTTER  for the tips.

Kevin these are made at Davidoff, they worked with Henke on the blend... they are a good morning smoke with coffee.

OK Fellas ......... here's the info you have all been waiting for - LMAO!!!!!

All packages are on the way - sent out from fabulous Raleigh NC on Monday 8-22-2022 at 0900 AM. ETD - estimated time of delivery is 2 to 3 days - for everyone except Apollo (Stephen) - who lives just North of modern civilization, and just short of the end of the flat earth falling off point. History says his stuff takes 10 to 14 days so just maybe he will be able to join in the fun!!!!!

I thank you all for joining the "group of misfits" and hope you enjoy the critique stick, plus the body guards.

Also, I am a few days late getting these in the mail - thanks to covid - a second time - that's with both shots and a booster plus wearing the dang mask at all times when in public - GO FIGURE???????

................................................................................................................................................................................

Valencia - ETD - 8.25.22        T#9505 5122 8712 2234 6370 17

Azalea -   ETD - 8.26.22        T# 9505 5122 8712 2234 6370 24

Carlisle - ETD - 8.25.22         T# 9505 5122 8712 2234 6370 31

Crystal River - ETD - 08.25.22  T# 9505 5122 8712 2234 6370 48   MR MILLER, SIR  Heads up - I will be back in your area the second week of Sept - not sure yet of exact dates - I will get up with you when in town and we will hit the Cigar Lounge again.

Slingerlands (Kool AZZ name) - ETD - 8.24.2022  T# 9505 5122 8712 2234 6370 55

End of the Earth Canada - ETD - who the heck knows????? - CH168725955US - where shipping costs now require taking a second mortgage on the house - LMAO Again - this all considering it can only be tracked a partial route once in Canada, then via horseback up until the MUSH dog teams takes over. Then Stephen has to hike 20 miles over rough tough dangerous terrain, in full survival gear to a abandoned mail drop shack just to pick up a box of hockey memorabilia that closely resembles a box of brown twizzlers that smell like tobacco rolls.

STAY SAFE - TAKE CARE - LIVE LONG and save time for" at least one more stick"!!!!!!
