Since this hasn't been done in a while, I figured I would get one going again.  Even though the holiday season is a while off, starting early will give as many people as possible the opportunity to participate.

Personally, I have 20-30 cigars I plan on sending to the troops in Afghanistan.  Is there anyone else that would like to bomb the troops?  If so, I will collect them and send one large care package.

For the newbies or for those that haven't participated - send as many as you want.  Even a fiver will make a difference.

Feel free to PM me with any questions.  Also, if you have any tips or suggestions, please post them here.

Wow, thanks for the great response!  For those that wish to participate, you can find my address on my profile.  I will be in pocket at least through the end of next week, so send them when you can.  :bigthumbs:

Once I've received all the packages, I will take some photos and get them shipped.

Thanks, everyone!

"Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed - Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.'" -Jack Handy

Give me the weekend to get my stuff together, and I will try and mail out Monday.

How long until this is going to be sent out?  I'd love to contribute, but don't have the spare funds at the moment.

There is no rush.  I definitely want to get them out before the holiday season - mid-November at the latest.  Since I've got some extra room in my humi, a couple months storing cigars won't be a problem.

So to answer your question, I'll hold off on sending the final package until everyone who wants to contribute can or early-November, whichever comes earlier.

On smoking bans: "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." — C. S. Lewis, God in the Dock
