As I posted before I won the 15 cigars & herf-a-dor from cigar bid. Well it just came today and I opened it up to see what I got (like I didn't know) but I found that the 5 Vegas Limitada 2010's were cracked at the top! 4 out of 5 had the issue looking almost like it could have been crushed. The cracking goes below the area I would cut so it's problematic. What's the best thing I should do?

It was difficult to get the photo to show all the damage, but here's the best photo outta the ones I took.

I would place a phone call to CI and explain the problem noting you have a photo you can e-mail to them if they want it.

I'm betting CI will offer to replace the cigars immediately without you having to send the damaged sticks back to them.

Please let us know how it works out.

WOW! That was almost enjoyable, nice waiting music and a resolution to my problem! :dancing:

So I called and told them the issue, and are sending a new 5 pack out tommorow! It was a pleasant interaction with them saying that "if any can be smoked then do so and if they can't don't worry I can throw them out". :smoker:

Thanks, for the advice there ROTHNH,  that was basically my plan anyway however I more likely would have sent an email.

I have gotten cracked cigars before, I think it's a humidity issue.

CI is generally very good about fixing issues.  I would have been surprised if they gave you any problems in replacing them.

Definitely! I've had a few issues on CBid, and they've always resolved them fairly and swiftly.

CI is very good and quick to resolve issues as long as you let them know within a reasonable amount of time.  I've had product that was damaged and make the call the day I got them and they sent another shipment within the week.  I offered to send the bad ones back but they told me not to worry that it would cost more to pay for S/H than it would to just send out a replacement.

That's the way to bring customers back.  Some other shops could take a lesson from it.

Congrats on the great win, and the quick resolution to the issue!

You're welcome, Chris.

As I said, I would have been surprised with any other outcome.

I knew CI would come through for you!  They've always been more than helpful on the rare occasion I've had a problem.  Looks like a few of those smokes could still be smokable with a severe pruning job.  I'll bet you could cut those heads off with careful wielding of some cigar scissors and save most of the stick.  If you don't have a Xikar MTX Multitool...yet... this is an excellent excuse!

and that right there is why they (CI/CB/Cigar.com) get a majority of my cigar dollars...

I'M BACK, MF-ers!!!

Very cool of them to do that! Not too many places run service like that anymore.

Very nice to hear about this!  All of my orders are placed over the phone through cigar.com, and I have never had a bad experience with them.  They even make sure I get all the freebies and samplers i'm entitled to if I don't ask for them, and sometimes they even throw some in that i'm not entitled to!  :dancing:

A few weeks ago, I had the same issue with some 5 Vegas Limitada 2010 I received from CBID.  They sent replacements the same day and told me to keep the original shipment for my troubles.  Great customer service!

Glad it worked out for you as well.

Glad to hear that you got new sticks without a hassle.  I also wanted to commend everyone for putting in two cents on where to get good service on buying cigars online.  It seems like that's the way most of us do business these days, so it's good to have a word of mouth referal for some of these companies.  That's what's great about being part of this community.   :bigthumbs:
