This cigar was enjoyed with Lager beer

Pre-Light: 15 Points of 10 Possible

Smooth velvety wrapper with some very prominent veins. Nice firm pack and a well built head. V-cut nicely. Nice aroma at the foot and wrapper. Very simple presentation with a modest band. A little disappointed with the cracked foot.

Lighting and Burn: 15 Points of 15 Possible

Burn was straight as a razor after a very quick and easy toast. Nice solid ash held to about an inch before I knocked it off accidentally. Very generous volume of smoke with each puff.Nice slow burn that lasted a little better than an hour and never got hot or bitter.

Construction: 22 Points of 30 Possible

This was a seemingly well made cigar although it had a few prelight issues. Wrapper had about a half inch crack at the foot and about two inches up the wrapper had a pinky-nail size knick, believe it or not these didn't really affect the way the cigar burned or tasted. Draw was very easy and gave off alot of smoke.

Flavor and Aroma: 32 Points of 45 Possible

I would label this a mild to medium cigar personally. No bite at all and very smooth and creamy. First third was very earthy witha hint of sweetness in the finish and alot of cream. The retrohale brought out a bit of cedar and woodiness. Second third was the same but added a bit of hardwood smoke flavor and a slightly citrusy tang in the finish. Final third I really liked, a very nice sweet tobacco flavor added to the earthy, leathery taste and the finish was very creamy with no bitterness.

Summary

I was very impressed with the taste of this cigar. Wasn't expecting much at first with a few cosmetic issues but it really performed. I would definitely smoke another one. I'm not sure the price of these as I've not come across them anywhere, but I would be willing to spend a few bucks to stash a few in the humi and see what a year does to them.
