Hmmm...does this incidate that the home page may soon be cleared of bombing debris so that more interesting things may be attached thereto?

Sure would be nice if the recipients of gifts could restrict themselves to crowing about their acquisitions and expressing their profuse thanks to the sender in such a thread as this...but I'm not holding my breath!

IMHO, the individual threads aren't usually a problem, but from time to time, we have 2-3 members launch carpet bombs that all coincide.  That is the only time it gets to be a bit much on the homepage.  With that being said, I don't want to keep folks from showing thanks, and I definitely don't want to curb the generosity of the folks that are doing the bombing.

So, this thread is here for those that want to use it.

Ken you're getting close to sounding like a crumudgeon again  But I agree, the homepage was getting pretty congested.

Not a bomb, but I don't want to clog the home page.  While I was in Atlanta Adam (bewaredapenguin)hit me with his end of the Blackhawks/Wild bet!  He hit me good!

Sammy (sauraspop) hit me as well with this fine bomb containing a couple that I've had on my wishlist for some time. Unfortunately the Joya was damaged in transit but I think it can still be smoked.  :thanx: for your generous gift.

Atleast they are posting cigar related material and not useless crap that some people post after hours of scouring the web...last time I checked this was Cigar Geeks. I honestly find it annoying to find threads, not all but most, that are non-cigar related and a link to an often useless tidbit. Just my two cents... :-)

Hate the Joya was damaged & hope you can salvage some of it. From your wish list I can tell you like lancero's. Corona's, lancero & especially corona gorda'a my favorite. The Los Blancos has about a year in my humi, should be good to go with month or so rest.

Coronas are my favorite. I'm just starting to get into lanceros and I've found the few that I've had very enjoyable.

Well here's an easy fix:  Don't read those threads!  There's a link on the top of the forum list titled "New Posts Since Last Visit".  Click that and then only read the posts under the forums that interest you.  This is a community of people with diverse interests, stories to tell and many friends made over the years.  We share our interests, we share our joys, we share our worries, we support one another, we celebrate each other's accomplishments and we generally tolerate the differences we have with other members.  Oh yeah, and all this has put us together as a community because of our common love of the leaf, so we have discussions about cigar/pipe related sometimes, too!

There are plenty of cigar forums out there that have much tighter structure and stricter forum rules.  They appear to be "educational", but don't seem like much fun. But there will always be people that those type of forums appeal to.

Very true Bruce and that takes us back to the point that who gives a crap if someone posts a seperate thread for bombing acknowledgements...if you don't want to view it then don't!  That was my point...guess that was lost in translation somewhere.
