The event is announced, my link is ready! The event is April 12th this year. last year the total amount raised by my friends and family was a nice $1300.00! ($516 by Geeks alone). This year my goal is going to be $2000.00.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I raise money for the St. Baldrick's foundation every year. This is a very worthy cause, at least 80% of all money raised goes directly to fund childhood cancer research. Not only is it a good cause, but it is fun too, and what better way to have fun than by helping the kids?
If you have seen previous posts on this, then you know my hair is ridiculous, I hate it really, but i learned to have fun with it and use it to raise money for these events. the basis of the events is that you are shaving your head in solidarity with children who lose their hair during cancer treatments (most of it gets thrown away as it is not long enough for locks of love, but those that can usually donate that too. Mine does not get that long).
To make this more fun, raise more awareness (and money) to the cause, with two weeks left before the event, whoever makes the highest donation to date gets to choose the color of my hair. I've been this will be my 5th year participating, 3rd coloring my hair.
2013 my dad chose green, I looked like a tennis ball.
2014 Joe (condition zero) chose the most feminine purple I could manage, I looked like an evil minion from despicable me 2.
What will I look like this year?
On top of all that fun, I'm going to send a nice prize to the top Geek that donates!
