| This cigar was enjoyed with Root Beer
Pre-Light: 18 Points of 20 Possible
This cigar has a very interesting shape. It lookes like a box press, but with rounded sides; forming the oval shape. There were no major viens, and seemed to have a very precise roll. The foot of the cigar smelled of Chocolate and Raisins. It clipped cleanly and the cold draw had a slight tug.
Light & Burn: 12 Points of 15 Possible
I toasted the foot, and it lit quickly without issue. The burn was slightly wavey for the first inch. It corrected itself and burned true until the passing into the final third. I had to apply a minor touchup to one spot. I did this to ward off a possible bigger burn issue as I completed the smoke.
The Ash was a light grey color and held to about one inch chunks. This cigar also produced a good volume of smoke.
Construction: 28 Points of 30 Possible
This cigar was expertly crafted. The roll was even and smooth. The wrapper had no flaws. The Stick was firm and felt nice. The cap was cleanly appliled. This is what I would expect from an AJ cigar.
Flavor: 32 Points of 35 Possible
Upon lighting the cigar, I was met with a very pleasant rich tobacco taste. I also tasted a very lite spice and some leather. This cigar was very consistant in the flavor's I picked up. The leather and rich tobacco was tasted throughout. There were sections of the cigar where I picked up some coco and towards the end of the second third, I tasted a fruitiness.
I found this to be a very solid Medium bodied cigar.
Summary
I found this to be an enjoyable cigar. It had Excellent construction and exhibited only the one minor burn issue. I found the flavors to very consistant and enjoyable. The chances are very likely that I will pick up a five pack of this cigar. I would also like to try the maduro version. Thanks to Wayne for sponsoring this critique and allowing me the opportunity to review this cigar! I enjoyed it.
