Welcome to another Member sponsored Geek Critique generously sponsored by our member nirab (Brian). The cigar provided for this round is the Stolen Throne Argos Toro.
The Argos came about in a different manner than the rest of the Stolen Throne lines. It was born as a Winston's Humidor exclusive with its proceeds going toward animal rescue organizations. If you like it extra spicy, you'll love this cigar! This cigar is only available in 11 shops across the country, and nirab's shop The Cigar Vault is blessed to be one of them.

Pre-Light: 10 Points of 10 Possible
This is a beautiful cigar with a nice tight pigtail cap. The seams are hard to find they are so smooth and it has the slightest of sheen to it. The cap cut well using scissors. It's a pretty firm body with one small soft spot in the middle. The cold draw is just right and the aroma has a faint chocolate hint to it. The foot is partially closed.
Lighting and Burn: 12 Points of 15 Possible
This lit well with a single flame torch. A thin burn line with a small wave and solid ash that held for about an inch and a half. Shortly after the ash fell I had to relight, but it didn't seem to affect the taste. With the exception of the re-light, the burn stayed pretty straight and thin with an occasional wave.
Construction: 28 Points of 30 Possible
The construction seems really good, with the exception of a small soft spot (it did not affect burn/performance). The draw has the perfect amount of resistance and the cap cut and held together well throughout the smoke.
Flavor and Aroma: 35 Points of 45 Possible
First Third- From the light this has a pretty strong retro with nothing extra really standing out but the feel. The cigar is on the bold side of medium and has a pretty straight forward earthiness to it.
Second Third- It doesn't change much by the start of this third but at about the midway point it got salty.
Final Third- pretty much more of the same... Earth and Salt.
Summary
Thanks to Nirab for setting this up and letting me participate! This was a really good looking cigar that burned well for the most part, but it did have one re-light. The construction was pretty solid but had a soft spot that didn't affect the performance at all. Unfortunately this one fell short on the flavor profile for me. It was pretty one dimensional and got salty halfway through. I'm going to give the second one some time to settle and try again later.
