The Cigar: Dram Cask #1 (6.0 x 60)
The Hype: Cigars and whiskey have been a classic pairing for centuries. But now, there is a line of cigars whose blend is crafted specifically to pair with certain whiskeys. The brainchild of C & C Cigars, Dram Cigars for Whiskey offers four different blends, each one with a different flavor profile and strength, but all of them created with the perfect pairing in mind. This particular offering is dubbed, Dram Cask #1.
Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Dram Cask #1 was blended for the purpose of being paired with a milder, lighter whiskey with notes of citrus and wood. With that in mind, #1's binder and filler tobaccos are left undisclosed, but a Connecticut shade wrapper leaf is on display, giving off smooth notes of cream, spicy wood, and an aromatic herbal nuance. Mild to medium-bodied, Dram Cask #1 is a pleasure to enjoy with or without a pairing partner,

Thanks again to Gary for stepping up with such short notice and taking this one on and providing the cigar. THANKS!! And happy smokin' :smoker2:
Thats a giant!!. Cant wait to see these reviews
This sounds like it'd be fun if I knew a crap about whiskey.
 :snoring:
I know there are some whiskey drinkers out there...here's a critique where you're SUPPOSED to drink it with the cigar! :drinking:
Hop on board people! :-)
I'm a whisky drinker and like a good mild cigar from time to time. I'm down for it if you'll have me?

You're in Pete...enjoy!!
I'm in if you'll have me. I do enjoy pairing my cigars with scotch and whisky/whiskey.
But I'm a bit worried about Pete. He seems to be schizophrenic. Or bipolar. Or something. I can't remember what the voices told me he was.
:lmao: You're in Mautrak...
Bump??
Come on geeks its a free stick and I'm sure its a good one
Put me down if you're still looking. More then happy to try one of these.
Wish I could for you man, changing jobs is just going to leave me with limited time to review in the next couple weeks.

These will hit the mail today, hopefully you guys can enjoy it during the holiday weekend! I think I may light one up after my Bruins get win #1 on Saturday. :smoker:
Tracking #'s have been PM'd to the reviewers, looks like everyone will have about a week to fit in their critique, deadline is 9/10. Thanks.
:bigthumbs: :bigthumbs: Sounds good...looking forward to the review.
BTW, these have about 5 months of humidor time, in case the reviewers would like to know...
Well the USPS website shows expected delivery today for me, but my postman came and went. No delivery for me. Fingers crossed for tomorrow . . . .
Hopefully they all make it by tomorrow so you guys have a week to work it in to your schedule.
Received my critique cigar and a hitchhiker.
My thanks to Gary (headfirst) for his sponsorship.
I'm a firm believer in the buddy system, no cigar should travel alone! :-)
Mine showed expected delivery today but it hadn't been received in at the Albuquerque hub yet. Maybe tomorrow.
Yeah, the Post Office is playing games with mine as well. Their website still shows expected delivery by yesterday, but the package didn't come again today. The USPS website shows the package was still about five hours from me as of midnight last night.
But with fingers crossed (which makes typing tough), I'll get lucky and it'll show up tomorrow.
Mine arrived...thanks for the traveling buddy! More yummy tobacco to enjoy!
Sorry guys. Especially frustrating that Jeremy doesn't have his yet, he's a 3 hour drive from where I mailed these! Hopefully tomorrow so you have them for the weekend.
Received my yesterday. Thanks for the bonus stick Gary, and thanks again for sponsoring this GC.
Mautrak and Neal, the packages are finally in your zip codes, looking good for today.
Mine was delivered today in good shape, along with company. Thanks, brother!
Mine arrived as well. Thanx for the ride along also.
Reminder: critiques due in 3 days.
Happy Labor Day, hope you're enjoying something nice today.
My review is in. Thanx for having me Gary.
Thanks Neal.
Should get this done tomorrow night
Mine will be in tomorrow.
Mine will also be either tonight or tomorrow night. But it shall be done on time!
:bigthumbs:
Review is in...thanks for the chance to try this smoke!
Critique is in. My thanks to Gary for making this possible.
Thanks guys. Just smoked my first of these last night, a little underwhelming considering the retail price tag, very curious to see what you all thought...thanks for stepping up and getting the critiques done quickly.
Smoked and reviewed...putting it in the system right now. Thanks Gary!!
Reviewed and submitted. Thanks for letting me be a part, Gary.
The review speaks for itself, and I won't give away any clues here. But I will say that I haven't done a review in many months, and had a lot of fun doing this one. It's a cigar designed to be paired with a light whiskey, and I paired it with three different whiskeys over the duration of the cigar, and had a blast doing so. Thanks!
Awesome Jeremy, thanks man, glad you had fun with it.
Interesting to read your reviews guys, thanks.
Thanks again, Gary. It looks like all of us had the same impression. A good solid cigar, if you're looking for a mild cigar. Probably not up the alley of most of the members on this site, but a fine cigar for what it is trying to accomplish. That was my goal in my review - not necessarily to review how much I liked it, but rather to review how well it accomplished its intended goal.
