This cigar was enjoyed with Water

Pre-Light: 18 Points of 10 Possible

This cigar is a dark caramel color, with a reddish hue to it. Coloring is slightly uneven. Mostly smooth, with one prominent vein, a few smaller ones, and a light oily sheen. A very light tobacco smell. Clipped easily and clean. Draw is very good, and tastes lightly floral, sweet tobacco, and a hint of clove.

Lighting and Burn: 10 Points of 15 Possible

Lit easy and even, it became slightly uneven early on, and required retouching toward the end of the first third, and again just past halfway. It burned mostly even through the final third.
Solid light to medium gray ash that held well to 1.5 inches.

Construction: 24 Points of 30 Possible

Another solid feeling stick, almost to the point of hard, with no soft spots. The cap was slightly uneven, and appeared to have been hastily applied. As with the other two, this one had a near perfect draw and provided loads of smoke from start to finish.

Flavor and Aroma: 30 Points of 45 Possible

The first couple of draws had a very mild bite to them, followed by an immediate hit of earthy tobacco flavors that deepened through the first third. Transitioning into the second third, a dry woody finish developed. Earthy, leather and tobacco note intensified and it developed a hint of the clove detected in the prelight draw. A dramatic increase in the full texture of the smoke came on in the final third. It also developed some peppery spice, and mild bitterness near the nub.

Summary

Overall I really liked this cigar, despite the points I had to take off for the burn and somewhat sloppy cap. It smoked very well, though I would have preferred the fullness I got toward the end had come on sooner, it had very satisfying flavors, that changed up enough to be interesting all the way through. I was actually a little surprised at the lack of a nicotine kick, as this is supposed to be the stronger of the three reviewed. I would love to have a few more of these in the humidor. Highly recommended!
