Welcome to a Geek Critique of a cigar generously provided to us by our friends at https://jassumkral.com/" target="_blank">Jas Sum Kral. https://jassumkral.com/" target="_blank">https://jassumkral.com/ After a bit of teasing, the company says that it will sell a new line of cigars called http://www.cigargeeks.com/cigardb/default.asp?action=showcig&cigar_id=191768">"!@#%$ (or F) the FDA" at the upcoming Tobacco Plus Expo (TPE) 2020. Since this cigar is a pre-release, Riste Ristevski, the company's owner, declined to answer questions about further details surrounding the cigar, instead he replied with a band that displayed the brand's name along with a background comprised of middle fingers. Pre-Light: 9 Points of 10 Possible

Semi-dry, kinda rustic looking wrapper, that is fairly smooth save for one prominent vein. Cap cut cleanly and easily. Firmly packed cigar, with an interesting sweet aroma off of the foot. The color of the tobacco at the foot was interesting, as it had a section that was noticeably lighter than the rest of the tobacco.

Lighting and Burn: 10 Points of 15 Possible

The burn was off quite a bit in the first third, and then straightened out. The cigar was a bit hard to keep lit for the first third due to some small tunneling, but stayed lit for the entire smoke. The ash was solid, and had a unique coloring to it. One side was grey with black spots, and the other was almost pure white. The burn was slow throughout the entire cigar, and required no re-lights. The smoke volume was medium in body.

Construction: 26 Points of 30 Possible

The draw is great, with just the right amount of resistance working with the flow. The wrapper is well applied, smooth, with one prominent vein, which had a small bearing on the performance of this cigar. The cap is well applied, and stayed intact after cutting.

Flavor and Aroma: 40 Points of 45 Possible

The cigar started out with a heavy, meaty char like flavor, with a slight sweetness and a touch of pepper. Entering the second third, the meatiness subsided, and a nice, tangy sweetness emerged, and was mildly spicy. The cigar finished with the charred meat tones, with the tangy sweetness and spice dropping into the background. The smoke was very smooth, and heavy on the palate. The retrohale was smooth and was very enjoyable. The smell off the foot was sweet as well.

Summary

This was an interesting cigar. I really enjoyed the meatiness blending with the tangy, sweet-n-spicy tones. The retrohale was extremely smooth, and the flavors lingered long on my palate. I was also intrigued by the coloring of the ash, I've never seen an ash like this one. I look forward to the release of this cigar. Thank you to Brian and JSK for allowing me to enjoy this cigar.
