NOTE: This was a blind review, so our reviewers only received an unbanded cigar to sample and critique.

RoMa Craft Tobac has built a solid following with its stateside releases, and a few years back the company seemed to double down on its U.S. fans' loyalty by creating a new line that wouldn't be available domestically. There's nothing like wanting something you just can't have, or may not be allowed to have, or really even supposed to have. The Wunder|Lust debuted exclusively in Germany in February 2016 as a limited release in 4 sizes.  In September 2019, a fifth size of the Wunder|Lust vitola was released, a corona gorda size named Fiorella in honor of Skip Martin's youngest daughter. Limited in number to 5,000 cigars. Obviously, U.S. cigar aficionados are finding ways to obtain a few of these to smoke and enjoy.

This cigar was enjoyed with Sweet Tea

Pre-Light: 10 Points of 10 Possible

Pre-Light, this cigar had a triple cap, with great construction, no flaws in the wrapper. It had a dry sheen to it, and it had no hard or soft spots. The aroma was slightly cuban-esque, with a hint of cocoa. The pre-light draw had a hint of spice, and a strong black tea/ tobacco flavor. This cigar was a 5.5 x 48 sized cigar.

Lighting and Burn: 12 Points of 15 Possible

This cigar held it's ashes in 1/3's pretty much. the first 1/3 burned perfectly, but the ash was a dark grey, and flaked off almost in spears, but held together until it fell off right as the second third began. The smoke volume was a medium amount through the whole cigar. The second third, as well as the first 1/3 had a razor sharp burn line, and the ash was like stacked grey dimes on the second third and it had to be tipped off when I got to the final third and it went out. I could shake the cigar, and the ash was not coming off. The final 1/3 had 3 relights, the only off part to the whole cigar.

Construction: 30 Points of 30 Possible

The draw of the cigar was perfect, the wrapper was perfect, and the cap was perfect, not unraveling while being smoked. There was no really hard spots in the cigar, nor were there any soft spots. The cigar was flawless in construction.

Flavor and Aroma: 40 Points of 45 Possible

I would say that this cigar was a solid medium.

First Third:
This was led off with a tiny bit of spice, with the main flavor being leathery cocoa with good tobacco flavors on the whole cigar.

Second Third:
The second third led off with another little hit of white pepper, that only lasted a couple of puffs. The main flavors of this third were an earthy leather with some smokey oak hints along the way. The leathery cocoa taste was still the aftertaste of all the flavor.

Final Third:
The final third was characterized by the same earthy leathery cocoa flavor, though it also had a little bit of caramel mixed in through the relights.

Overall, the flavor was mainly one dimensional, with a few slights whims thrown in every so often.

Summary

Overall, I liked the cigar. The cigar had GREAT construction, and that goes a long way in a cigar for me. You didn't have to worry about it falling apart while you smoked it, it was a nicely made cigar that held its ash a long time, and smoked quite nicely on the first 2/3. The flavor was a little one dimensional with some other notes thrown in along the way to keep the interest, but nothing that would dance all over your palate. I know that this was a blind taste test, but it is definitely a cigar that I would revisit down the road, if the cigar is readily available and not severely overpriced.
