RoMa Craft Tobac has built a solid following with its stateside releases, and a few years back the company seemed to double down on its U.S. fans' loyalty by creating a new line that wouldn't be available domestically. There's nothing like wanting something you just can't have, or may not be allowed to have, or really even supposed to have. The Wunder|Lust debuted exclusively in Germany in February 2016 as a limited release in 4 sizes.  In September 2019, a fifth size of the Wunder|Lust vitola was released, a corona gorda size named Fiorella in honor of Skip Martin's youngest daughter. Limited in number to 5,000 cigars. Obviously, U.S. cigar aficionados are finding ways to obtain a few of these to smoke and enjoy.

This cigar was enjoyed with Richard's Sparkling Rainwater

Pre-Light: 9 Points of 10 Possible

Semi-oily wrapper and fairly smooth, with one medium vein on the lower half of the cigar. The cap is well applied, and stayed intact after using a v-cutter. Cigar feels well packed, and has a nice, sweet tobacco aroma off the foot.

Lighting and Burn: 14 Points of 15 Possible

Burned started a little wonky, and then evened out nicely. The ash held solid in 3/4" chunks and coloring was a nice bright white with medium sized black cirles spotted here and there. Burn was a touch fast, but no complaints. No relights were required, and the smoke volume was medium in volume.

Construction: 29 Points of 30 Possible

The draw was spot on, with the perfect amount of resistance. The wrapper was well applied, and did not peel away or crack. The cap held firm after cutting and did not unravel the entire smoke. This was a very well constructed cigar.

Flavor and Aroma: 40 Points of 45 Possible

The cigar started right away with a nice n' creamy sweetness, clean tobacco, and a hint of what reminded me what gingerbread smells like. An excellent start! The retrohale was smooth the entire time, and brought out the sweet notes. Into the midway point and the cigar continues to have an underlying sweetness and a little bit of baking spice joins in, along with just a hint of oakiness, while staying creamy, and the tobacco really shines at this point. Heading into the last third, the sweetness fades to the back, and the woody tones ramp up to the front. The aftertaste was very enjoyable the entire time, as was the retrohale. The smoke was very smooth.

Summary

I really enjoyed this cigar. The sweetness was very pronounced on my palate, the woody notes were nicely balanced, as was the entire cigar. It was fairly complex as well. Overall, I would smoke this again in a heartbeat. Thanks to Brian for including me in this GC. Top notch smoke!!
