Lirio Rojo translates to "red lilly" from Spanish. The 2019 limited release of the Lirio Rojo is a new size, a 6 3/8 x 42 lonsdale vitola rolled with a 109 cap, which is basically a combination of a belicoso cap and a normal cap. In previous years, this cigar was only produced in a corona vitola. However, while the vitola size and the cap used on the cigars were changed for 2019's release, other details remained the same (i.e. the blend remained a Nicaraguan puro that was sold in cabinets of 50 without bands.)

This cigar was enjoyed with Water
Pre-Light: 9 Points of 10 Possible
The cigar was somewhat rough looking with a medium to dark wrapper and a little veiny, the was one splotch of a dark green like it didn't fully cure. The foot looked like it was bunched nicely and there were no soft spots. I didn't pick up any aroma from the foot or body.
Lighting and Burn: 13 Points of 15 Possible
The cigar toasted up nicely and the burn was a tiny bit wavy. The ash was a salt and pepper in color and only held on for about a half inch. During the smoking session two what I like to call bunch holes appeared which caused a draw issue and a relight. Smoke volume was really good.
Construction: 27 Points of 30 Possible
Overall construction on this cigar was very good. The draw was spot on for me. Besides the two bunch holes it was will made. the cap cut very nice. I had little to no issues with the this cigar. I found it to be medium to full in body and strength.
Flavor and Aroma: 43 Points of 45 Possible
The opening draw was very good right off the bat with a nice tangy leather, pepper, and a nice walnut taste all mixed together. After a couple of puffs the spice went away and the leather settled down and the walnut continued. As it moved into the second thirded a nice almond and some type of woody taste was present, a bit of the spice returned. During the last third it continued to move in and out of the nuttiness's and the woody notes with an occasional spice note.
Summary
This cigar was a pleasure to smoke with little to no issues. I enjoyed the way it moved within the flavors definitely not a boring cigar. I want to thank David for the opportunity to review this cigar. And yes I would have some of these in my humidor.
