The Hype: At Cházaro, we carefully select the best San Andrés Negro tobacco leaves harvested in San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz. The leaves are traditionally cured in barns for many months, after that they are fermented for 3 years. The Habana Cházaro cigar gives in more to the touch, completely smooth and perfectly made, its color is characteristic of the Habana leaf, a cigar with a pleasing quality profile. The cigar is composed of 50% strong tobacco and 50% mild tobacco giving the smoker a medium strength smoking experience.

This cigar was enjoyed with Water
Pre-Light: 10 Points of 10 Possible
This cigar had a nice chocolate brown wrapper, was firm along the barrel with no soft spots. I was unable to detect any aroma along the barrel, however I did pick up a sweet grassy aroma at the foot.
Lighting and Burn: 10 Points of 15 Possible
This cigar lit up nicely, the burn started off razor sharp and then started to shovel a bit and required a touch up to get it back on track. The smoke volume was very good. The ash was solid and drop in 1/4 inch chucks. I had to relight the cigar several times.
Construction: 25 Points of 30 Possible
I found this cigar to be very well constructed. I was unable to see any seam lines. When looking at the foot it appaired to be well bunched. The cap looked well applied and cut clean with no cracking. I really liked the dark chocolate wrapper with was smooth and somewhat toothy at the same time. The draw seamed a bit restricted for me.
Flavor and Aroma: 34 Points of 45 Possible
The opening of this cigar was a very deep, rich earthiness, a slight spice, like some kind of pepper that I felt on the back of my throat, and a bit of espresso coffee. As detected on the pre-draw, it was a bit restricted for me, but not to were I needed to use any type of poker to open it up.
2/3 - There was not much of a change going into the 2nd third, However the spice picked up a bit more and the earthiness continued.
3/3 - Not really much has changed sense the opening or the second third. The cigar was mild to medium body, mild to medium in strength.
Summary
Overall this cigar really didn't fit me well. I did like the deep earthiness of it but wish I could of gotten more out of it, maybe a larger vitola. I want to thanks Nirab (Brian) for the chance to review this cigar.
