The Hype: At Cházaro, we carefully select the best San Andrés Negro tobacco leaves harvested in San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz. The leaves are traditionally cured in barns for many months, after that they are fermented for 3 years. The Habana Cházaro cigar gives in more to the touch, completely smooth and perfectly made, its color is characteristic of the Habana leaf, a cigar with a pleasing quality profile. The cigar is composed of 50% strong tobacco and 50% mild tobacco giving the smoker a medium strength smoking experience.

This cigar was enjoyed with Water
Pre-Light: 9 Points of 10 Possible
Nice looking oily corona with a firm feel, shiny wrapper and a clean triple cap. Cigar has a light tooth in the light and is an even medium-brown small veins. Getting a nice cedar and barnyard smell on the wrapper and foot.
Lighting and Burn: 10 Points of 15 Possible
Lit up nice with a triple flame and burned with a solid light gray ash. Nice smoke output when puffed and doesn't smolder when sitting, which I appreciate. Ash held on consistantly to an inch and only fell off once when I let it get to an inch and a half or so. Developed two runners down the side, but only one required correction and did not affect the smoke.
Construction: 25 Points of 30 Possible
Cigar is well made with clean even seams and a good looking triple cap that never came undone. Smooth even wrapper with clean flat seams and a nice ideal resistaance on the draw. Cigar got a little soft when burning but continued to perform well.
Flavor and Aroma: 35 Points of 45 Possible
I'd call this medium body and mild/medium strength. Initial flavors are cedar, earth and pepper on the retro with not much taste left in the mouth. Getting more flavor at the end of first third moving into the second. A light sweetness, cocoa and burnt toast developing with less pepper on retro. Final third is bringing sweet raisin and a tangy barnyard on the retro. With no retro I get mostly burnt toast flavor. Now getting a light tingle in the throat. Final inch has a spicy jalapeno flavor with a menthol note.
Summary
This cigar was really nice looking and well made. I felt like it was going to be boring due to the slow start, but the flavors picked up nicely. I really enjoyed the funky, tangy barnyard flavors and almost constantly retrohaled whiched may have caused the light tingle in the throat. Really liked the jalapeno and menthol at the end but it came into play a little too late. This was a good enjoyable smoke, but wish the second have to end flavors would have started a lot sooner.
