This cigar was enjoyed with Water

Pre-Light: 7 Points of 10 Possible

Cigar has a mottled and somewhat lumpy appearance.  Colorado claro wrapper, with visible seams.  Cap appears slightly tapered, but could just be an odd roll if not a 109 style cap.

Cold draw was a nice barnyard note, and the wrapper had molasses or ginger snap notes.

Lighting and Burn: 7 Points of 15 Possible

Cigar lit well, and burned wavy but straight enough.  From the second half on it required a few relights, and did not seem to want to keep lit.  Smoke volume was standard, and the ash was a bit flaky.

Construction: 27 Points of 30 Possible

Draw was light to medium, which was good for my preferences.  Wrapper wasn't pretty, but held together and had no issues throughout.  Cap was a clean cut and did not fall apart at all.  Some relights were necessary, but I think the was not due to construction.

Flavor and Aroma: 30 Points of 45 Possible

Cigar started off with heavy white pepper and cedar, which overpowered the profile for the first inch.  I enjoyed it, but it was quite a potent start.  Once the cigar calmed down, there was a nice roasted nuts flavor on the retrohale, with some citrus complementing the cedar on the tongue.

Into the second third, the blend smoothed out, with the pepper coming down to a medium, and some caramel and nutmeg base was brought into the base of the blend.  Some nice herbal notes increased as the profile built up.  Some harshness came in near the end of the second third.

Final third was mainly charred meat, herbal, pepper, with some harshness.  Some relights may have hurt this blend, but I felt the profile lost it's best qualities, and gained some unfortunate ones as the cigar was smoked.

Summary

A decent cigar that was blended and constructed well, but did not hold up throughout the smoking experience.  Whether due to the blend, or due to some burn issues, I enjoyed the first third the most, and the last third the least.
