The smoke is a full-throttle experience that assaults your palate at break-neck speed, races around your mouth for a hundred miles, and leaves your taste buds in a cloud of power, intensity, and excitement. The dark wrapper leaf utilized on Jericho Hill is a nod to "The Man in Black". Manufactured at My Father Cigars S.A., Esteli, Nicaragua, and distributed by Crowned Heads.

This cigar was enjoyed with Water

Pre-Light: 8 Points of 10 Possible

Cigar looked really good, smelled really good, felt really good. Nice dark wrapper with no significant veins. Felt like it was rolled nicely, fairly firm. Smelled of a nice sweet tobacco and cedar, like it was well rested and ready to smoke.

Lighting and Burn: 9 Points of 15 Possible

The cigar for the most part performed well, except I did have it tunnel on me in the 1st 3rd, and this really caused the cigar to never really recover from this. I've seen this a little more than I used to, sometime you can get them to correct, and sometimes you can't. It was a little annoying throughout trying to keep it even, but didn't destroy it. The smoke volume was plenty with little effort so other then the bad burning it did pretty well.

Construction: 22 Points of 30 Possible

I'm not going to kill it just because it cannoned on me, but it was an annoyance that took away from the enjoyment of the what would have been a really good stick. The draw was good, the wrapper was selected nicely and tied up to a very small pigtail. Cap was applied nicely and it cut clean, no issues.

Flavor and Aroma: 38 Points of 45 Possible

I thought this was an enjoyable cigar other than the burn issues. It had a nice medium flavor throughout and some dark chocolate notes in the 2nd 3rd. It was on the lighter end of the medium scale in the 1st third that had a nice full smoke volume that wasn't overpowering in strength. Cigar smoked smooth for the most part and really only got hot when I had to touch it up, so that was more then normal.

Summary

Thank you again to Apollo and Cigar Geeks for the opportunity to review this cigar, overall I thought it was a good cigar, I really wish I didn't have the burn issues I did, as I'm sure it would've been a much better experience. It was a nice cigar with some good flavors that were smooth, and not overpowering. I enjoyed the flavors the sticks had and I burned it all the way down. Thanks again!
