Welcome to a Geek Critique of a cigar generously provided to us by David at https://www.egars.com/" target="_blank">egars.com. This year marks 19 years of Camacho Liberty, a series that is one of the most highly-anticipated annual releases for collectors and aficionados of bold, full-frontal cigars. Launched ahead of the July 4th holiday to celebrate and honor the birth and history of the United States, this special series is like no other. The blend in this series has been comprised from tobaccos of a variety of regions and vintages, making it a knockout cigar for Camacho. The 2021 Liberty Series blend captures the strength and character of four distinct regions. Our blenders have harnessed these daring qualities into the classic Churchill format. It's bold and explosive, yet also balanced in its depth. Only 1,500 boxes available nationally. Special thanks goes out to David at https://www.egars.com/" target="_blank">egars.com for providing the cigars and to Wescat (Kevin) for coordinating this!

This cigar was enjoyed with Bourbon
Pre-Light: 10 Points of 10 Possible
Presentation-wise, this cigar is tough to beat. It comes in a nice wooden coffin that reminded me of a kids wooden train whistle.
The red, white and blue band with silver highlights was also very cool. A nice milk-chocolate brown wrapper with 1 long vein. Pre-light draw was a bit resistant and I couldn't discern much from a flavor profile. Maybe some hay and leather.
Lighting and Burn: 13 Points of 15 Possible
Burn was spot on - literally razor sharp. Ash was light gray and firm. It held on for well over an inch at a time. Smoke volume was light and had a really nice aroma. So much so, that my wife commented on it and she hates cigars Burned well over 45 mins and no need to re-light or touch-up throughout the smoking experience.
Construction: 26 Points of 30 Possible
This is a much bigger cigar than I am used to and was impressed with it's construction. It's 7x48 and the wrapper, aside from the 1 vein, was put together very nicely. It was lighter than I anticipated The slight resistance was perfect for me. Nice and smooth.
Flavor and Aroma: 40 Points of 45 Possible
The pre-light draw hinted of hay and leather and that is pretty much what I got out of the gate through the first third.
Second and Final third, I really didn't pick up any other flavors throughout. Some light pepper but not much else. Earthy, leather, hay, some cream and a little pepper was all I picked up.
Very consistent from beginning to the end but I didn't think it had much complexity.
This was not overpowering. Just a really nice medium bodied easy smoking cigar.
Summary
Thanks to Kevin (wescat) and Bruce for allowing me to participate. This one was fun. Overall, I enjoyed this cigar from start to finish. I'm glad I picked up a few because it is one I'd smoke again.
