Welcome to another Member sponsored Geek Critique generously sponsored by our member ninfiction (Brian).  The cigar provided for this round is the Warped Upper Realm.

The Upper Realm is an exciting release from the mind of Kyle Gellis, limited to just 250 boxes of 200 cigars. Aganorsa Leaf was tapped to produce these Nicaraguan puros that feature a Corojo 99 wrapper from Jalapa, a binder from Esteli, and filler tobaccos from Esteli, Condega, and Jalapa. "The blend is deliberately transitional, and clearly showcases each individual region," said Kyle Gellis. "This is the first time we are using so much EstelĂ and Criollo material, and it celebrates the essential raw power of Nicaragua and the EstelĂ region, and it delivers a powerful, primal taste."

This cigar was enjoyed with Enjoyed with a nice glass of ice water

Pre-Light: 10 Points of 10 Possible

This is a very attractive cigar with a nice smooth almost seamless wrapper. The color is a nice medium brown wrapper. I check for soft spots and there is none. Their is a slight oil feel to the wrapper. There is a tobacco smell with a hint of vegetable on the foot.

Lighting and Burn: 10 Points of 15 Possible

It was time to fire this baby up. I use an Xikar cutter and were off to the races. It fires nicely with a nice draw that suits me fine. The smoke volume is great which allows me to get a good taste on this stick. The ash is  a nice salt and pepper and holds on for about an inch. The burn is very good on this stick but at the end of the second third it goes out and requires a relight, don't figure

Construction: 27 Points of 30 Possible

The construction as stated before is top notch from the smooth almost seamless wrapper to the nicely applied cap. It cuts nice with no blemishes on the cut. When I test the draw it is spot on for what I like, just enough restriction. All and all it is a very well constructed stick

Flavor and Aroma: 40 Points of 45 Possible

1st third-I get her going and the first thing that hits me is the spice on the retro. This lasts for about 10mins. then slowly fades to a dull roar. I get a mocha tobacco with grassy vegetable which I find quite interesting. All and all its off to a good start.

2nd third-By now the spice is completely gone on the retro but it is replaced by the grassy vegetable. The finish is still short like it was in the first third. I'm getting a nice mild tobacco with still that grassy vegetable taste. The burn was good until it went out when this third was done. The other thing that happens in this third I start to get some spiciness on the tongue.

Final third-The retro goes off to a little meaty flavor. I'm still getting the spice on the tongue and stays till the stick is finished. I get a little sweet smoke now and the grassy vegetable is pretty well gone. The finish is still short

Summary

I would like to thank Brian for including me in this. Warped is one of my go to brands and I haven't tried this mixture. The burn time was 55min.and it stayed nice and smooth for the duration. It was very enjoyable and would I smoke it again "Your darn right"
