Welcome to another Member sponsored Geek Critique generously sponsored by our member Kman (Kerry).  The cigar provided for this round is the Stolen Throne Yorktown Fleet Torpedo.

Stolen Throne cigars debuted in 2019 to great fanfare of cigar enthusiasts. The Yorktown Fleet is now their fourth regular production cigar, and was introduced during the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show. Like the other Stolen Throne cigars, the Yorktown Fleet is made at the Rojas Cigar Factory in EstelĂ, Nicaragua.  The name was chosen after Stolen Throne recently opened a new headquarters in Yorktown, Va. According to their website: "The Yorktown Fleet, a cigar built from history and adventure. Carefully hand-rolled to transport you back to a time when smoking was rebellious and a true embodiment of cool."

This cigar was enjoyed with Coffee

Pre-Light: 10 Points of 10 Possible

As with all Stolen Throne Cigars I have enjoyed, this is a really nice looking cigar with a slight oily sheen to it. No veins, blemishes or abnormalities at all. Nice firmness to the cigar and the torpedo cap clipped clean with my Xikar straight cutter.

Lighting and Burn: 13 Points of 15 Possible

Burn rate was good, did have a very slight wander on the burn line early on but it straightened itself out with out and help needed from me. Ash is a bit flaky but holds on in 1" increments until tapped off. Smoke volume is very good.

Construction: 30 Points of 30 Possible

For my liking the draw is spot on for me with just enough resistance which I have notice with all selections from Stolen Throne. Wrapper is a beautiful chocolate brown with zero flaws and the cap is perfect. Cigar smoked beautiful all the way thru with no issues whatsoever.

Flavor and Aroma: 44 Points of 45 Possible

1/2 - First impressions are an earthy/woodsy flavor accompanying the tasty tobacco goodness, partway into the first half a nice leather joins in. Not a ton of complexity to me but that is just fine as so far this smoke is wonderful, I personally do not really need a lot of complexity in a cigar for it to be good.

2/2 - Second half is consistent with the first with the tobacco flavors getting a bit more prominent over the earth and leather. This is a really good smoke. I am getting a slight spicy aftertaste towards the end of the smoke.

Summary

First off, a big thank you to Kerry for sponsoring with this fine selection. I thoroughly enjoyed it as I have with all Stolen Thrones I have smoked. I am definitely gonna search out a few of these for the humidor. I smoked this one first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee but am sure this would pair nicely with a glass of bourbon or scotch as well later in the day..
