Welcome to another Member sponsored Geek Critique generously sponsored by our member nirab (Brian).  The cigar provided for this round is the Stolen Throne Argos Toro.

The Argos came about in a different manner than the rest of the Stolen Throne lines. It was born as a Winston's Humidor exclusive with its proceeds going toward animal rescue organizations. If you like it extra spicy, you'll love this cigar! This cigar is only available in 11 shops across the country, and nirab's shop The Cigar Vault is blessed to be one of them.

Argos The Argos came about in a different manner than the rest. It was born as a Winston's Humidor exclusive with its proceeds going toward animal rescue organizations. Tasting Notes: Red Pepper | Cedar | Roasted Oranges https://stolenthronecigars.com/limited-cigars/ Zesty and darn near effervescent at times. Sriracha waterfall, anyone? If you like it extra spicy, you’ll love the additional red notes of paprika and cayenne. Sweet citrus brings a bit of sweetness, as does a hint of white chocolate. A bend-not-break lively cedar provides a stage for the picante players to play on. Wrapper Habano Maduro Binder Nicaraguan Filler Nicaraguan
Pre-Light: 9 Points of 10 Possible

My initial pre-light observation was that this is a really well constructed cigar.  It was light and not tightly packed.  It's got a nice chocolate brown wrapper with a short pigtail type cap.  It was a dry and somewhat toothy with a few veins.   Initial "sniff" was of leather and I got a little spice on the lips from the pre-light draw.

Lighting and Burn: 12 Points of 15 Possible

I used a straight cut, due to the short pigtail cap and lit it up.   First third the cigar burned nice and straight but into the second, it started to get a little uneven and needed a touch-up.   Not an issue and the rest of the smoke was pretty consistent burn.   The other thing I noticed was that it burned fairly quickly for me - around 35 mins - faster than my average smoke of cigars this size.

Construction: 29 Points of 30 Possible

Not much to add that I hadn't already stated above.  The cigar itself is very well constructed.   The wrapper is dry and slightly toothy to the touch with a nice tight cap.   The draw itself was a looser than I tend to like which attributed to the quick burn rate mentioned above.

Flavor and Aroma: 38 Points of 45 Possible

Flavor wise, this didn't have much complexity.  I picked up a bit of spice during the first third which transitioned into just a good solid smoke the rest of the way.  It was mostly leather and rich tobacco taste to me.   Overall , I felt this was a medium strength cigar.

Summary

I was super excited to try this cigar because I'm a big fan of Stolen Throne cigars.  When I read that a portion of the proceeds go to Animal Rescue organizations I was so hoping that it would be an enjoyable smoke.  It did not disappoint. I didn't think it was anything special but from start to finish, I enjoyed this cigar.   Would pick some up knowing it's for a good cause.  Thanks again @nirab and @Brlesq for letting me participate
