This cigar was enjoyed with Cold Water

Pre-Light: 18 Points of 10 Possible

The cigar had a very attractive appearance. It was light chocolate and oily in color. There were a couple of veins but nothing serious. It had a nice fresh tobacco smell to it out of the humi and the solid cigar cut with no trouble at all.

Lighting and Burn: 14 Points of 15 Possible

Lighting was very easy. I toasted the head and lit the cigar with no issues. It lit evenly and the burn was even throughout the cigar. The first ash held for a solid 1.5 inches and had a nice salt and pepper color. After that, the ash held solid but it did get a bit flaky at times. It burned slowly and did not require a re-light. This little cigar gave me a surprising amount of fragrant smoke.

Construction: 29 Points of 30 Possible

The construction to me was typical Fuente perfection. The wrapper was tight and the cigar was well packed with no soft spots. The cap was solid and held nicely to my cut which was very clean. The cigar has a nice draw which wasn't too easy but a bit firm, and not tight at all.

Flavor and Aroma: 31 Points of 45 Possible

1st Third: The cigar started slow for me. There wasn't much initial flavor. After a little bit though some nuttiness came into the picture followed by a hint of spice in the background.

2nd Third: As I smoked the spice intensified a bit but never real strong. It kept its nutty flavor but to my surprise a hint of sweetness appeared. The combination of spicy and sweet was very appealing to me.

Final Third: The sweetness disappeared but the cigar continued on with a full rich flavor. It was nice that the cigar never got harsh or bitter as some cigars can at the end of the cigar. I smoked it to the very end of the nub and enjoyed it very much.

Summary

This was a very nice smoke. It was medium in body but had good flavor and outstanding construction. This was my first experience with this cigar and now knowing what I know will be smoking many more of them.
