This cigar was enjoyed with Water
Pre-Light: 10 Points of 10 Possible
This cigar was nice looking, the wrapper was a nice dark brown, and it had a toothy feel to it. It was firm in the hand with no soft spots, The aroma of the cigar had a faint sweet hay smell to it, but not much more. The cap appeared well applied. Overall, the cigar looked well-constructed and was presented well with the band.
Lighting and Burn: 15 Points of 15 Possible
The cap cut cleanlily and the pre-draw was nice very little effort. The cigar lite up nice and burned nice with no touch ups and only one relight. The smoke volume was nice, and ash was a light gray. The ash was solid and held in half inch chunks.
Construction: 30 Points of 30 Possible
The construction on this cigar was well done, which is typical of La Aroma de Cuba cigars. No roll lines were visible, and the cap was applied nicely. The draw was nice with no restrictions. The wrapper was toothy with a slight oily sheen to it.
Flavor and Aroma: 40 Points of 45 Possible
This cigar opened up with a nice earthy taste to it, I like to call it dirty, which translate into very earthy. The smoke left somewhat of an oily taste in the mouth. As I progressed into the cigar a nice woody taste come into play along with the earthiness mixing with it. As I continued to smoke a little bit of leather and a slight spice was noticed. Towards the end a little bitterness came in which is when I put it down.
Summary
Overall, this was a nice cigar to smoke I enjoyed it from the start to the finish. I really like the earthiness of this cigar. I would say that I like the toro in this cigar better. I would like to thank cnyCigarGuy (David) for letting do this Critique. This is a cigar that everyone should have in their humidor.
