This cigar was enjoyed with Screwdriver

Pre-Light: 18 Points of 10 Possible

This cigar had a nice medium brown wrapper with a slightly oily appearance. It had a few small veins, but not enough to detract from the appearance. The cigar had a nice smooth texture, and the pre-light aroma was very pleasing with a nice rich tobacco smell.

Lighting and Burn: 11 Points of 15 Possible

This cigar lit very well, but at about 1/2 inch into the burn it became very uneven and required a touch up about one inch in. From there the burn was wavy until about halfway where it began to even out some. This cigar had pretty good ashing. The first ash I knocked off at 2 inches, but the remaining ash I knocked off an inch at a time. This cigar also put off a fair amount of smoke, but not as much as I would have expected.

Construction: 24 Points of 30 Possible

This cigar had a nice firm feel with no soft spots. There were no visible seams, flaws and/or defects in the wrapper. I used my double guillotine cutter, and there were no issues when cutting the cap. This cigar had a slightly firmer draw than I like; as the tobacco was packed nice and tight. Other than the burn not being even and the slightly firm draw this cigar was constructed well.

Flavor and Aroma: 30 Points of 45 Possible

This cigar was not very complex in taste, but was very pleasing. The cigar started off with some tastes of nuttiness, and then transitioned into tastes of earthiness while still picking up some hints of nut. This flavor pattern remained throughout the first 2/3 of the cigar. In the final 1/3 of the cigar the earthiness remained, but the nutty taste was replaced with hints of spice. During the entire smoke the pleasing aroma remained as well.

Summary

Overall this cigar was very good, and in a normal review it would receive a solid 4 star rating. This cigar was very pleasing and not over powering at all. The database list this cigar as full in strength, but I found mine to be more medium in the first 2/3, and developing to full in the last 1/3. I took my time with this cigar and smoked it for approximately 90 minutes. While it was an enjoyable smoke, I find it over priced at approximately $11 for single cigar. If you can find it at a more reasonable sale price then give it a try as it is a solid smoke.
