This cigar was enjoyed with Peets French Roast

Pre-Light: 17 Points of 10 Possible

Shallow veins under an attractive smooth wrapper. The cigar had no identifiable soft spots although the wrapper did seem a bit on the dry side. I punched this cigar and although the wrapper seemed a bit dry the punching process did not crack the head.

Lighting and Burn: 12 Points of 15 Possible

The lighting process was effortless and the cigar sparked quickly and evenly. The draw was a bit on the loose side but the cigar did quite well albeit a bit faster than I anticipated and it did generate a nice amount of wispy smoke. The burn was steady and even and no relights were needed.

Construction: 24 Points of 30 Possible

The draw was just too loose for my particular taste and the wrapper started to unravel at about the 1/2 way point of the smoke. I do believe that this particular cigar was just too dry and unable to really show its true potential. Even the best constructed cigars in the world cannot survive a low humidity enviroment.

Flavor and Aroma: 25 Points of 45 Possible

This is a mild, one dimensional cigar. The initial taste was a light spicy tobacco with just a bit of leather and cedar that for all intents and purposes did not change much throughout the entire cigar. The last half of the cigar became just a tad on the toothy side and stepped up with some bite on the palate that was not too harsh but nonetheless not an attractive by product of the cigar. The wrapper started to separate at the 1/2 way mark and it just deteriorated from there. I am quite sure that the loose draw contributed considerably to the destruction of the wrapper as it was difficult to keep this cigar smoking cool.

Summary

That said, I would like to try this cigar again before passing to harsh a judgment on it. I think it is a better cigar than I smoked. I possibly got a "bad one" or for whatever reason the cigar gods were not smiling down on me this day. I think some humi time would do wonders for this cigar and would definitely enhance the qualities I detected.
