This cigar was enjoyed with Water

Pre-Light: 17 Points of 10 Possible

Oily appearance, some small veins, dense, firmly packed, cut precisely with my Xikar STK, spicy tobacco scent, great draw.  A very tall, dark and handsome cigar with unobtrusive dual bands that removed easily and without issue.

Lighting and Burn: 14 Points of 15 Possible

Toasted and lit easily, fairly even burn, average smoke volume, gray/black somewhat flaky ash lasted 1/2-3/4 inch.  Burn rate was fine for its size and shape, requiring no touch-ups or relights throughout.

Construction: 28 Points of 30 Possible

Solid, firm, well constructed, good looking cigar with a good draw.  Construction was excellent.  This Prodigy Torpedo, like every Rocky Patel cigar I've smoked over the years, is flawless.  Rocky knows how to build 'em.

Flavor and Aroma: 33 Points of 45 Possible

Upon light-up, medium-full body with a lot of white pepper over allspice, which dissipates slightly after the first inch but remains throughout the smoke, balancing out and adding cocoa and some maduro-like sweetness.  At the half-way point, the spice remains, there, but more in the background, as the sweetness increases, balanced by flavorful tobacco flavors.  Approaching the last third, the sweetness gets even better, caramel-like and a bit salty.  I nubbed this Torp.  A very good smoke -- well rested (thanks Bryan!) -- one of the best "house blends" I've tried.

Summary

What a surprise.  The Ecuador Habano 2000 wrapper is the star here, exceptionally cured and completely devoid of the annoying issues often prevalent in cigars with this wrapper.  The twin Honduran/Nicaraguan binders also work well in this cigar, leading the way, I believe in what makes this cigar unique.  It's clear, too, that much effort was made in blending the filler tobaccos to balance it all.  Not a cheap cigar for a house blend, but an excellent value IMO.  A winner.
