This cigar was enjoyed with Vodka and Tonic with a squeeze of lime

Pre-Light: 18 Points of 10 Possible

This cigar is nice to look at.  Very nicely rolled with two prominent veins.  It has no soft spots but it is  slightly light in the hand. The wrapper is oily with some tooth to it.

The pre-light aroma is of rich and slightly sweet tobacco.  If this tastes as good as it looks and smells I'll be happy.

The head clipped perfectly with my Palio.  The draw is perfect with slight resistance but far from difficult.

Lighting and Burn: 13 Points of 15 Possible

This cigar lit with relative ease.  The burn is just slightly scalloped but close to perfect in the first inch.  The ash is snowy white and holding firmly.  The trend continues with near perfect burn throughout.  The ash held for about 1.5" each time and remained snowy white.  Smoke was plentiful throughout and no relights were required.  Smoking time was 1.5 hours on the dot.

Construction: 29 Points of 30 Possible

The draw on this stick remains flawless with just the right amount of resistance.  I honestly could not ask for a better draw for my taste.  The wrapper is sturdy and appears to be very thick.  The cap is also very strong.  This cigar really holds up well in the construction department.

Flavor and Aroma: 27 Points of 45 Possible

1st 1/3: The taste is of nuts with a very slight spicy tingle.  The aftertaste is a bit leathery with same the nut flavor as the draw.  Medium in body and flavor at this point.

2/3: Ok folks this cigar hit its stride at the halfway point.  A creaminess enters with leather and nuts.  There is also a very slight cherry sweetness that remained until the nub.  The same slight tingle remains throughout.  The strength is close to medium full and the flavors are much fuller.

Final 3rd:  This one ends with a little more spice at the nub.  Very good.  Medium full in strength and full flavored at this point.  I could feel the nicotine from this one but it never tasted overly strong.  If the flavor in the last 1/2 to 2/3 had been from the start I would be really excited about getting my hands on more.

Summary

Overall a very good smoke.  I would like to let the second one age a bit to be completely fair.  It had been in transit for 10 days and only rested for 7 days.  It was never harsh but it did seem like it could use a bit of rest.  This one could be something I will seek in the future.  With a bit of rest I'm saying we could have an 89 to 91 point smoke here.

Side note:  For those not familiar with vodka and tonic.  It acts more as a pallete reset than anything else.  Similar to water with a squeeze of lime.  The flavors of a cigar are neither enhanced nor detracted from.
