This cigar was enjoyed with Water

Pre-Light: 19 Points of 10 Possible

This cigar had only small veins in the light to medium brown wrapper with a slight reddish hue.  Being a torpedo, the cap was near perfect.  I used a Palio cutter on the head which easily cut perfectly. The aroma was near barn yard and earthy.  This cigar was firm with no soft spots.

Lighting and Burn: 14 Points of 15 Possible

This cigar was easily lit and burned well throughout the smoking. When I lit this cigar, and shortly after, I could tell it was a quality cigar and that I was going to appreciate the burn.   While it was not a razor straight burn, it was only slightly wavy and never required any corrections or relighting  The ash was light gray, and while it was slightly flaky, I got a 2 inch firm ash before I ashed it so I didn't wear it.  This cigar produced lots of smoke throughout. It did seem to burn a little quick but never hot.

Construction: 28 Points of 30 Possible

By appearance, the construction on this cigar was outstanding with a smooth wrapper with minimal veins, and a well done torpedo shape.  There was one small discolored spot  in the wrapper right at the foot but did not take away from the cigar at all when smoking.  The pre draw was near perfection with only a slight restriction.  In smoking, the draw was great all the way through and very enjoyable.  It was evident throughout smoking that this was a well constructed cigar.

Flavor and Aroma: 31 Points of 45 Possible

1/3 When lighting this cigar and I could tell I was going to enjoy it.  I subconsciously retrohaled revealing a slight pepper flavor, that changed into a slightly woody cedary flavor of medium body. The flavor profile was somewhat creamy and smooth. This was a morning cigar for me, so it really fit the moment.

2/3 Cedar seemed to be the predominant flavor, but just when I picked up on the cedar, I also picked up on a hint of spice and earth.

3/3 The flavors built some in the end. The cedar flavors were gone and gave way to a more earthy flavor with even a hint of leather.  They were enjoyable but never overbearing.  The flavor profile remained more in the medium range never getting to medium full

Summary

This is really a nice cigar, milder to medium bodied, and creamy. I found it mildly complex with some flavor transitions and enjoyable through the entire smoking event.  The construction is commendable, I enjoy smoking a cigar where the burn and the draw are top notch. I found it hard to deduct points on this cigar, where it could have been slightly more complex to give it a "wow" factor, the construction and smoking made up for it.  Overall a great cigar and thank you Jake for allowing us to review it
