This cigar was enjoyed with Ice Tea

Pre-Light: 19 Points of 10 Possible

The Rosado wrapper was very pretty, and seemed fairly thick.  The look of the veins was interesting on this cigar.  They were dark against the Redish tint of the rest of the wrapper.  The aroma of the body had a very pleasing sweet leathery scent.  The Foot smelled of raisins and a faint chocolate note.  The cigar was firm with no noticeable hard or soft spots.  The Cigar cut cleanly.

Lighting and Burn: 13 Points of 15 Possible

This Cigar lit easily using one match.  Within the first 3/4 of an inch, the burn got slightly lopsided, but the stick was able to recover, and then the burn was even and true.  The Cigar produced a good volume of smoke throughout its entirety.  The first ash dropped pretty quickly, before an inch in, but held alright after that point.

Construction: 26 Points of 30 Possible

I thought the overall construction of this cigar was good.  The cigar was evenly rolled.  The cap was wrapped cleanly.  The wrapper had a velvety feel to it.  There were a few water spots on this wrapper.  The draw had a nice tug to it, but wasn't hard.  It remained that way throughout the smoke.  I thought the font made the band a little difficult to read.

Flavor and Aroma: 25 Points of 45 Possible

Upon initial light of this cigar, I was hit was a blast of spice and bitterness.  This bitterness held for the first few puffs.  I thought that maybe the cigar was burning hot, so I put the cigar down to let it cool somewhat.  After I picked up the cigar again, it had cooled down and I picked up a bit of an earthiness to the flavor.  I was surprised to still taste some of that bitter flavor.

Towards the middle of the cigar, I picked up hints of wood.  At the halfway point, the cigar started to coat my throat and I still tasted the bitterness.

Towards the end of this smoke, I think I picked up some Anise notes in addition to the Wood and bitter.

This Cigar definitely had some complexity as the cigar progressed and was a more mild bodied cigar.

Summary

I thought that I was really going to enjoy this cigar from the initial inspection.  I think that this stick is a quality cigar, but the flavor profile isn't something that I enjoyed all that much.  I think that this is because the stick seemed to impart too much bitterness throughout the smoke.  If this cigar had more box time, I am wondering if the bitter tastes I picked up would have subsided, making for a more enjoyable flavor.
