This cigar was enjoyed with Spiced Rum

Pre-Light: 18 Points of 10 Possible

I aleady wrote this review once over two days only to lose it when I tried to enter it. This review will be minus the eloquence and fluff and stick directly with the facts as I experienced them.

A beautifully made cigar with a fairly smooth wrapper, well centered cap, chock full of tobacco, neither oily nor dry, and a few very small veins present. A delicious aroma of fruity spice and fresh tobacco. The head is wrapped strong and takes the cut well. The unlit draw is dead on. No soft spots and very well rolled. I thought the band could be more antique like or at least less plain.

Lighting and Burn: 15 Points of 15 Possible

This stick lit easily, burned perfect all the way to the nub. No re-lights were needed. It burned cool and slow and the draw was exactly the way I like it: with just enough pull. Lots of smoke and a nice tight solid ash. Nothing to pick at here.

Construction: 30 Points of 30 Possible

No construction issues whatsoever. As mentioned above, great burn, draw, etc. This stick was just perfect. I am picky and can usually find something to subtract from the score, but not with this particular cigar. Full points again.

Flavor and Aroma: 31 Points of 45 Possible

A great balance of flavor and strength was my first impression of this smoke. Medium bodied with just enough spice and mild sweetness to keep me interested. The tastes and strength progressed together and never overpowered each other. No bitterness or harshness present whatsoever. Some tastes I cannot describe like many other reviewers, but I do know what I like and I liked it very much. This cigar was smooth, delicious, and nub worthy. I cannot give a perfect score in taste because I have no frame of reference for that.

Summary

I think Peter has a real winning blend here. Having smoked both wrappers in a variety of sizes and liking them both, I find the flavor and construction quite consistent. Based on the price of $5.50 -$6.50 depending on the size, I feel this cigar is well worth the money.
