This cigar was enjoyed with Water

Pre-Light: 18 Points of 10 Possible

This cigar is well made with an oily, dark, slightly toothy wrapper that was flawlessly applied and felt like leather. Very firm with no soft spots and was tightly packed. It cut easily and had a great tasting draw. It had a strong, dark tobacco aroma pre-light.

Lighting and Burn: 13 Points of 15 Possible

The pointed head of this cigar made for an easy light. The cigar burned great, no touch-ups needed. It burned very slowly producing clouds of smoke, no need to double puff. The solid white ash had to be forced off.

Construction: 27 Points of 30 Possible

A flawless wrapper and a finely applied cap. The cigar stayed firm and cool all the way. The draw was tight at first but loosened after a few puffs. If you like chewing on a cigar, this one can take it.

Flavor and Aroma: 23 Points of 45 Possible

The cigar started medium bodied with a great aged tobacco flavor and a leathery finish. As it burned, an earthy, cocoa, wine cask(cork) taste came through and lasted most of the cigar. After the half, it became a more full bodied smoke and became richer with a dark roast coffee, almost bitter flavor. Towards the end some tarry oils came out of the end, very bitter.

Summary

This cigar is almost perfect, well made, great burn, great draw and very tasty. Its complex enough for veterans but easy smoking and never harsh for beginners. The complex flavor of aged tobacco, leather and cocoa with a satisfying maduro taste make this a truely great premium cigar.
