Perhaps the coolest cigar establishment I have ever been to.

Pat's Beverages (Pottstown, Pennsylvania, United States)      Submitted by mhuss 04/29/2008 11:44 PM
The only reason I'm adding this Place is to serve as a warning.  Please, please do not shop here if you find yourself in Pottstown.  The town itself is a pitiful place.  There's absoutely no reason to go there at all.  I grew up there.  I should know.  And take it from me, stay away.  If you want decent beer, than visit this store.  But if you want good cigars, keep driving.  They have a very small walk-in humidor that is more like a closet.  You honestly could not get more than two people in that space.  They have a larger selection in glass cabinets, but they are located by the checkout counter near the door.  And that is probably an issue itself.  They have large humidifers in each of the cases that seemingly create way too much humidity.  A lot of their cigars have a filthy coat of gray-greenish film attached to them.  The selection itself is alright, but they do carry a lot of stuff that I've never heard of.  I'm not claiming to be an expert, but I do know most quality brands out there.  This is not a very reliable place to buy your sticks.  And that is the main reason why I have added this store.  It is to let you know to keep on driving.  Not that you'd stop by a beer distributor in Pennsylvania to purchase your cigars.  But just in case you were thinking about it....

Frank A Smith Beverages (Pottstown, Pennsylvania, United States)      Submitted by mhuss 04/18/2020 05:57 PM
This is another beer distributor in Pottstown that offers cigars.  However, unlike some others, this store actually takes care of its cigars in a small but well-stocked walk-in humidor.  They pay attention to detail when it comes to inventory, selection, temperature and humidity.  The walk-in right next to the check-out counters at the front of the store.  You can get your hands on cigars like Cohiba, Montecristo, CAO, Bolivar, Fuente, Rockey Patel, etc.  They also have a fantastic selection of beer, so it's a one-stop store for all your "vice" needs.  This store has always been a favorite of mine to visit for beer, but at least a weekly visit is now a very common occurrence.

Cigar Cigars (Reading, Pennsylvania, United States)      Submitted by mhuss 04/04/2008 11:36 PM
This is a fairly new store in Reading at the Fairgrounds Square Mall.  Their selection is still a little light because of that, but they are planning on adding and expanding their selection.  They do offer some real gems already, like Pinar 3000 and 4000 and a few Hemmingway's.  They feature a modest-sized walk-in humidor, as well a small lounge area with a big-screen television.  They also have a Member's Only area that also has a big-screen television.  They feature their own line of cigars, which are hand-rolled inside the walk-in humidor.  They are called Eduardo, and are offered in several different sizes and wrappers.  And if you're lucky and you let them know it's your first time in the store (like I did), they'll offer you a freebie on the house.  The very knowledgeable woman gave me a great tour of the store, as well.  She really seemed to know her stuff.  Once they get all of their planned stock in house, they'll be a store well worth visiting.

Better selection than the one in Collegeville. The walk in is really used for box storage, you can find some gold in there. The owner is nice and they usually run specials. Their prices are very good for a non-online store. For example I had an order in for a box Sharks for 200 even and they were going to give me their sale of buy 6 get 1 free as well so I would have paid even less (their distributor did not send them so I haven't gotten the deal yet).

El Fumador (Sewickley, Pennsylvania, United States)      Submitted by paulian3 05/31/2008 09:18 PM
This place has a very well stocked humidor, a fantastic selection of pipes, stocks both Dunhill and DuPont lighters and has a wonderful assortment of tinned and bulk pipe tobaccos.  There's a small seating arrangement in the back and they do a great mail order business.  The problem is, the owner is a nut.  One day he'll snatch something out of your hand because he's afraid you'll damage it, the next he'll chat about mutual friends and really take care of you.  Still, truly great tobacco shops can bear crazy owners, and if you're ever in the area, I'd definitely recommend a stop at the El Fumador.

One Stop Cigars (Shillington, Pennsylvania, United States)      Submitted by Herfin Chef 11/27/2010 10:36 PM
This Shop just opened in Oct. 2110. The inventory consists of alot of your standard sticks. The owner/operator, Dany Patel, (yes Patel) assures me that it will be expanding. He was open for suggestions and I humbly requested the Man O' War and Ave Maria lines for starters. They have some gourmet coffee and soft drinks as well light snacks. They also carry alot of tubes and bulk tobbaco for the home roller.A neat little smoke shop for the "grab and go". Stop by abd have Mr. Patel order you up some of your favorite stumps.(I still cant get over his name)

Top Shelf Cigar Company (Skippack, Pennsylvania, United States)      Submitted by mhuss 04/11/2008 03:00 PM
A nice little cigar shop in the heart of a little shopping village in southeast PA.  The shop itself is located behind another store, so it may not be in sight while driving along the road.  There are signs to point you back toward the parking lot, though.  The staff is very friendly and can be relied on for a few suggestions.  They have a pretty nice selection with the usual names.  They also have some harder to find items like the Hemingway series from Fuente.  They have a couple of couches in the back corner of the store with a large TV, I'm not sure if the general public is welcomed back there to enjoy a smoke.  There were two or three gentlemen back there, but they seemed to me like employees.  They also offer the usual accoressories like cutters and ashtrays.  They have a table full of specials right as you walk in the door.  The only thing I didn't care for at this store was that they have a bottom row of cigars located right along the floor.  It's a little hard to see what brand they are, let alone to see what kind of condition they're in.  You almost have to get on your hands and knees to check them out.  Other than that, this is a pretty nice shop to visit if you visit the town for a little shopping or a nice meal.

Slippery Rock Cigars (Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, United States)      Submitted by MichaelS 04/01/2015 06:37 PM

Your Cigar Den (State College, Pennsylvania, United States)      Submitted by SenorPablo 04/05/2008 09:13 AM
This is about a block off campus.  I found it when I was in town visiting family.  It has a nice bright open room.  A fair amount of selection.  In the center they have a few arm chairs gathered around a table with an ashtray and humidor cabinets around the outer walls - no walk-in.  When I was there, there were 3 or 4 folks smoking in the chairs and it seemed very smoky.  Normally this doesn't bother me, but it did here - eyes stinging.  Seems like they need better ventilation.

They carry a nice selection of cigars and even offer some "bag your own" pipe tobacco. Their prices are standard with what you would expect to pay elsewhere. While they don't sell alcohol you are free to bring your own. It's a nice place to relax and have a cigar while you watch the game. They have a back area with additional seating and another television if there is nowhere to sit in the front of the establishment. Overall, it's a nice place to hang out and smoke cigars you can't find at other places in the area.

Not a bad small cigar store, really the only game in town. New owner looking for feedback to improve the place. Good selection for a small store, not a lot of filler, mostly good sticks. Prices are about as good as a place their size can offer, not marking up very much. Has their own line of Nittany cigars, bought a few to try out.

Great place to enjoy a smoke. Retail shop in front, walk in humi in the middle with a comfortable lounge in the back. There is also a big screen TV with HD for your enjoyment. There is a wet bar with a well stocked fridge with beer and water, honors system with donation box. There is also a public restroom available which is nice. There are two other locations in the area but this one is closest to me. Stop in for a smoke or two when you are in West Chester.

Smoker Friendly (Wexford, Pennsylvania, United States)      Submitted by Cfickter 04/03/2012 12:35 PM
While this is part of chain this particular store separates itself from the others.  First and formats a very well stocker humidor that is very well maintained.  It has a  nice lounge with a great bunch of regulars.  But what I like is the staff.  They are very knowledgeable and can make great recommendations when you are looking for something different.  They also host some terrific events with some great deals.

Smokin' Joe's Tobacco Shop (Wysox, Pennsylvania, United States)      Submitted by Samhain2000 01/28/2010 05:16 PM
Off I220, East of Towanda, Pa over the bridge. At first glance this is a run of the mill tobacco store selling cigaretts and chew. Over to the laft side of the store there are three humidor cases full of cigars. The bottom shelf has bundles of cigard but all the upper shelves carry brands such as Onyx, Helix, Ashton, Bolivar, Partagas, etc... I was pleasantly suprised to find this kind of selection in the middle of no where.
