if you ordered from here before what was your experience?
would you order again?
did you like there prices?
i really like there selection of cigars this is why i ask and there prices seem really good.
Thanks
Elliot
Holts is a reputable company. I have ordered from them before.
I have usedthem many times with no problems. Their 6 packs can be excellent deals. They are affiliated with Arturo Fuente, so you can often find cigars there that CI does not carry.
i thought there selection seemed more ...... exclusive
I have used them several times without issue. Have an order placed with them right now.

x2 on the 6 packs. Great deals. Closeouts can also be tremendous bargains, but they go FAST (sometimes within hours.) Alphairon and I recently picked up a box of Camacho Triple Maduro 11/18 on closeout for $129.99. Have rarely seen these below $200 on sale. These were gone within a few hours.
Good place!, Never had an issue with them.
I live pretty close to Holt's and have dealt with them often in the retail store. I have not ordered from them online and if I did it was a while ago. Holt's has a pretty solid reputation.
Good place to deal with, no issues.
I have bought from them many times with no problems. One of the better online retailers to get Anejo's from.
I have ordered from them before with no problems. Go for it!
Another vote for Holts....they are a great company to deal with and one day I hope to go there personally and buy some cigars. I have friends who swear by them and their personal service.
wtf
anyway, purchased with no problems

:lmao: :lmao: Jerry's trying to make a last minute run at the November Points Contest Top Ten.
Now he's deleted his 5 blank posts that preceded his "wtf" post.
Don't try to make me look crazy! I can do that all by myself!
Have bought from them recently. Prices are good and the cigars arrived in perfect condition. They also carry the Tatuaje HCS made exclusively for Holt's and only available there.
I took care of the quadruple post
I have purchased from them multiple times, and have never had any issues. Quick turnaround, everything arrived in excellent condition.
I've only ordered from them once, and they got the order wrong.
A while back, Jackal posted that they were running a 30% off special on LFD, call-in only. Since I'm a fan of the Chisel Maduros, I called to buy a box. Once my order was complete, she confirmed that I wanted a box of Chisel Maduros-20 count. I told her that if I remembered correctly, they only came in a box of 10. I told her that three or four times, and she assured me that they also came in a 20 count box. Against my better judgement, I confirmed the order. A few days later, I got a package with a box of Chiselito Maduros (20).
Since I also like the Chiselitos, I didn't call to dispute anything. For me, it wasn't worth the hastle to send the box back, even though I figure they would make it right. However, I find it really disappointing when a sales rep for a major online retailer knows less than the customer, and I won't be running out to buy from them again.
Just placed an order this weekend.
thanks for all the feedback guys im gonna go for it .

I have nothing but good experiences in dealing with Holts perhaps a dozen times. IMO, Holt's can have very good prices on their bundle brands, but they are not the cheapest on national brands.
Just like everywhere tho', keep your eyes out and you can hit real deals.
Someone above mentioned their 6-packs, some good prices there. This month they have La Aurora Cameroon Preferido perfectos at $5 a piece - when's the last time you saw a 5-pack of these for $25 at any of the auctions?
Some interesting, some unique samplers there too.
As to " I find it really disappointing when a sales rep for a major online retailer knows less than the customer" - I think you are playing a bit fast and loose with the term "sales rep" or you just expect too much. Most of the time, especially out of regular business hours, on the phone one deals with a "sales clerk", IOW, a cashier. They look up the product on a computer screen. I would be surprised if any major retailer "sales rep" knew half as much as I do about cigars, even the cigars they are selling.
You're a cigar enthusiast, an aficanado, a hobbyist. You likely know more about cigars than anyone you talk to on any given day. You could probably bore your friends to death with what you know about cigars.
I'm a wine hobbyist. Sales staff at liquor stores don't know as much about wine as I do. I used to be a mechanic. Car salesmen don't know as much as I do about cars. I own thousands of cigars. Why would a part time switchboard staffer know (or care) as much as I do about cigars?
It sounds like simple miscommunication. It's not like you wanted Chisels and she looked up Air Benders. One final note on this - stick with the thought that you know more than the sales staff. If you are sure they only come in boxes of 10 and not 20, insist on it. In the end, you agreed with the bad info she was providing - go ahead and say flat out "That's impossible. Check it again"

Normally I'd agree, except I have very low expectations of customer service because I like to be pleasantly surprised. If expecting someone who works for a major cigar retailer to know how many cigars comes in a box is high expectations, then so be it.
That being said, I wasn't talking to a switchboard operator or cashier. I've dealt with Holt's before, and I'm almost certain they have dedicated staff for call-in orders. To your point about "knowing as much as me", I wasn't asking the composition of the blend, the flavor characteristics, or any particulars of the cigar. I simply asked, four or five times, if they were sure they had boxes of 20 of the Chisel Maduros. There was no mis-communication, they just got the order wrong. It happens, and when it does, it is disappointing.

It's good to have Frank back, really!!!
I have had very good service with them even with the telephone operators. I am sure that if you followed up with them, they would have made things right, and probably compensated you for your frustration.

I really have no doubt they would have, it just wasn't worth the time. I like the Chiselitos, so I wasn't really complaining - just giving an account of when things didn't go smoothly.
I have used them its no problems. If you ever get to Philly you need to visit their shop in downtown and then go upstairs to the Oak room where you can have dinner and smoke a great cigar. Awesome lounge with nice looking staff.

Wow, pretty nice super sampler right off the bat there.
I've ordered from them before with no issues. In fact, I may go down to hang out with Pete Johnson on the 25 th. They have a really neat retail store.
