Title: Cbid Customer Service C'Mon
Post by: Shukpaw on 04/26/2012 12:13 PM
Okay, I will start by saying I made a mistake.  I'm bidding on an auction and I put my max bid in the bid box.  I immediately called their customer service and they say there is nothing they can do for me.  The word of encouragement from their "customer service" is "well you might still be outbid".  Their system used to only ask you for your max bid and then make the smallest bid for you.  The only advantage I can see in their new system is to take advantage of customers who make mistakes like me.

That sucks.  While I'm sure there's many bargains to be had there, I haven't used CBid since they "upgraded" their website ... what, a year or so ago.

Having to put your bid and max bid in separately was part of that "upgrade".

That sucks. :-( How long after you placed the bid did you call?  I'm surprised they wouldn't work with you if it was immediately.

Within a minute.  By the time she looked up the auction it might have been 3 or 4 minutes.

That stinks Neil.  I did the exact same thing when they first "upgraded" there site.  Luckily my max bid was still pretty low.  It made me go there less after they wouldn't do anything about it for me.

you can edit your max bid... they dont tell you this so you can lower it back to even with your origional bid. they dont tell you this....

i do it all the time
i place a bid with a max bid 20$ over

i win somehting else and lower my 20 max bid and zero it out and let it get out bid so i dont have to pay for it.

unless of course you mean you maxed out just your bid

QUANTITY:
BID: <------------------------ NOT ADJUSTABLE
MAX BID: <-------------------THIS IS ADJUSTABLE AND CAN BE EDITED

I always wondered how many calls they get from people who thought they were bidding on a box instead of a single. Over the last couple years I have seen some ridiculous bids where you just know that's what happened.
