How well does it work on ring gauges that are not listed? I enjoy a lot of 50 rg's. Who knows what's up?

Great thanks for the info.
Well sunofabiscuiteating bulldog...just bought one a couple of weeks ago for $50 and it's the same one...stainless steel and it's a great table top cutter. For that price you're stealing it. I've used the V Cut primarily but the blades for all 4 sizes work great...here's hint when you use it. Put it on a surface that when you pull the lever there isn't anything in the way on the downstroke...once it's being the cut you don't want to have to stop in midstroke. Secondly, it cuts best when you kind of moisten the tip first and then cut.
Way to enable, Jason. I really want one of these, but now is not the time.
I know Jeff is gonna come in here and bash me atop the noggin for directing him to a site recently for around 47 bucks. Sorry, Jeff. But this is a good price and I'm gonna have to pop this. Stainless is forever.
Thanks Jackal...the enabling kinda let up around here for a while but this one is very much welcome!

But will you ever see a price this good again (except, of course next time that they run a special).

My furnace has stopped working properly. It will need to be replaced before the summer is over. As nice as that cutter looks, heat in the winter looks better.

That's right, you live in one of those states that has weather. :bright:
I wouldn't mind getting one of these cutters so I have tried with monster to send stuff my way before and they wanted to put a friggin huge tobacco tax tariff and would not send humi pillows my way. Any idea why they would do that? I want to order this so bad but.....

The compressor on my 5 year old A/C went out a month ago and even though it's under warranty for 10 years it's still gonna cost me $800 to install, set up, etc. I have 2 A/C units..one for upstairs ( the one that failed ) and one downstairs. I thought about this and went out and got a portable unit for the Master Bedroom which is a big bedroom...600 sq. feet and it's only me and the mrs. The unit cost only $300 and nearly freezes us out at night so I've saved $500 on that. In the winter we use portable heaters that work so well we don't even use the HVAC at all...plus we have a huge fireplace. We have a huge house but I get sick and tired of seeing utility bills that use to range in the summer...$400 for A/C and now it's barely over $100. In the winter heat would cost us $300 to run the gas heat...now with the portable units it's only about $70a month while our gas bill doesn't get over $50.
I've researched portable units with SEER ratings...energy efficiency and buy the units with my credit card that doubles the warranty...I know I've saved at least $200 to $300 a month converting to portable units. We only use them in the rooms we're in instead of heating or cooling 1600 square feet on both floors...even if we turned off one zone it was still ridiculous what we paid. Todays appliances are really worth the money...we have to put on blankets at night with this portable air conditioner and it only costs 15 cents an hour to run...amazing.
I'm looking at 4 to 5 grand to replace the central unit. I don't use credit, and with only my wife working I have a minimum reserve that I don't want to fall below, so I don't have that much money freed up. Space heaters are starting to look good. I've sold some of my cigars, and I have a collectible LEGO set that I just sold for $800, so I am hoping to piece the money together before the end of Summer. You guys are welcome to buy anything you can see in my virtual humidor.
nice cutter, couldnt have done this a couple days back before i made my monthly stick order could they?
Done deal,, Thanks for the down low on the price Jason. Of course I picked up a five of AF Hemingway Best Sellers for 31 bucks along with there 50 dollar freeby Final Blend Test Flight Maduro's 8 pack, Got out for inder 70 bucks, Thank god or the wife will kill me...
Is there a size it won't work on? My wife is thinking of ordering for father's day for someone, but if it only works on the sizes they mention, I'm not too sure about it. :?:
Done deal...Thanks Jason!
Have not tried a 60 ring but I am sure it would work, Tried just about every other size, They have one at my local lounge and I have put it though it's paces..
Thanks BigTA! Hey, I am originally from SoCal, and visit every so often. We stay in the Huntington Beach area. Where is a good place to go there, or inland that I can go to enjoy a cigar? Maybe we can hook up one of these days.
I hit up Big Daddy's in Naples, PCH and second street. Just about four miles from me.

Will work on everything from a 38 up to a 60. For the smaller and larger I use the V cut options. The way the cigar sits in it there is no way for the smaller to get in too far and I believe it says 58 is the max but both the large openings will work on a 60. It gives a great scalloped cut that is razor clean. One other tip besides moistening the cap when you use the V cut have found that it gives a cleaner cut if you use a slow deliberate motion. Do it quick and it leaves a little bit of a ragged edge.
This think is worth it for sure. And yes I paid the $47 but combined it with a few other things and got 10% off my order so not bad! Trust me you guys will regret not picking this up at $38 is some of the best money I have ever spent on a cigar accessory!!! Guarantee all the members that bite will be on a few days after it arrives bragging about how much they love it so don't be the one kicking yourself later

One tip: wipe down the cutting elements, or yor first cut will have machine oil in the cutline. :nono:

You're about 35 minutes too late on that excellent tip, Wescat. Had to quickly alter the oily v-cut with a big ol' cap-flapper using my Palio. I shoulda known and wiped it beforehand. I've cleaned it all down with Kentucky clear dabbed on a q-tip so I'm ready to chop now.

Damn timing. I did a V-cut of a 48 ring, saw the oil, dried it with a napkin, tasted the cutline, not too bad. I then lightly moistened the cutline, dried it again with the napkin and fired it up. Never tasted it during the hour long smoke.
I'll work on that timing, Carl.................

i've had mine a month or so. it took a several cuts to get the oil off the blades.
So, Carl and Kevin what you guys think about it???
Looks like a good cutter.
I am curious as to how long the blades will stay sharp, and if there is a way to sharpen them or replace the blades, or do you have to purchase a whole new cutter when they get dull?

Been using mine several times daily for months and haven't noticed a change
I've used 3 of the 4 cuts and each one is spot on. As close to "precision" cut as one could get I guess. That, and it's stainless and it appears to be a quality piece that would last a long time. I kinda thought it might be a billet piece but for 38 bucks I was dreaming. Still it's nicely done and if the Monster keeps em on there much longer, I'll probably spring for a couple more for gifts in the future cause I don't see me ever wearing this out unless maybe I start using it to trim toenails or something.

Atlantic has it for $34.75 http://www.atlanticcigar.com/Lighters/Alec-Bradley-The-Burner-Tabletop-Flame.asp
Cbid of course it varies right now $31 http://www.cigarbid.com/Auction/Lot/1282437/Alec-Bradley-Table-Top-Torch-Lighter/
It pops up on the monster about once a week or so but it about the same price as Atlantic
Is another great product that I use several times a day. 1 other thing to note is at first I thought you had to hold the button to keep the flame but you don't. The adjustment knob keeps it lit and allows you to go up or down as needed.
cutter is on cigar monster right now for $38 until midnite EDT

OK, I have made about 20 cuts with it now. I like the hell out of it. For the past 6 months or so, I've been into the V cuts that my Xikar V cutter makes, very nice. So, initially I just used the V cutter on this Quad. Makes a good cut. Then I tried the other cut, which really isn't a guillotine, because of the cylindrically shaped cutter design. It makes a spherical, concave cut. I love it, never seen a cut like that before, very very nice.
Damn glad I bought it. Just make sure to clean out the machine oil when you get yours.
Been very happy with mine
I'd like to pick up another one at that price. Maybe they'll go back on sale soon.

One more "Heads Up" wrt this cutter.
It has 4 small rubber feet on the base. I had one of them stick to the table, and it pulled out. Thankfully I noticed it. I'd suggest gluing them in; I used some 3M super weatherstrip adhesive.
It pisses me off when something like that is missing a foot/pad and teeter totters. Or the base scratches up your table top.
Just sayin........
It's baaaack...until noon or tonight when they mash everything maybe
