Haven't smoked my pipes for quite a while and no nothing about the pipe tobacco available today. When I smoked a pipe I smoked a mixture called "Black Watch" which was a custom blend put up by the Votis Pipe Shop in Albany NY. This shop has of course been long out of business. Would anyone know anything about this mixture?
I have a friend of mine looking for the same mix! If you hear/find it, would you send me a PM and let me know where it can be found? :-)
Sorry, I hope you find it.
Chief - We have 2 remaining tobacco shoppes here in Albany. Maybe one of them picked up that blend and renamed it.

Good luck!
I asked my guy who knows everything about pipes and pipe tobacco and this is what he said:
I think that may be one of the Edward's Pipe Shops custom blends and is predominately a burley based blend and most likely a mild American type aromatic. If a person is looking for it they would need to contact an Edwards Pipe Shop to get it.
Don't know how much that helps, good luck
Thanks for the info. Didn't even know pipe shops existed in my old home town. Will give them a try.
Thanks will see if I can find an Edwards'
good luck.
I will ask around at my various B&M shops, I have 2 here that have been around for more than 30 + years

Received a reply to an inquiry from Pipes and Cigars in Albany. The tobacconist (Russ) remembers it well and said the Black Watch blend was originally put up by Phillip Morse. He has tried to duplicate it in his "Old Tartan" blend.
