Hi,
would anyone be interested in exclusive handmade cigar tubes? We currently sell them in Europe and want to export to worldwide as well. We are looking for both retail and wholesale customers. Our own manufacturing technology insures great strenght at light weight (1.0 to 1.8 oz). Base tubes are made from walnut or cherry wood. Oak, mahagony, african or any other wood availible for extra charge. For custom tubes (f.e. with your initials), inlay elements are made from copper, brass, tin. Silver, gold, ebony or horn also availible. These models you see are 170x20mm, most of cuban cigars should fit. But we can make any size you wish.
retail prices:
Standard tubes starting at $60
Custom tubes starting at $75 (inlay, initials)
Shipping - depends on Country, f.e. to US it's $16
We can also offer and have a good experience with community Group buys

Looking nice!.
Very nice work, but out of my budget. How many pieces would we need to buy as a group to get an initialed tube for $20? Doesn't hurt to ask right?
Nice stuff do you have a web site?

Indeed. I'd love to own a Geeks branded tube adorned with my username...
They are very nice, but I'd never spend that much money on one, I'd rather spend it on some cigars. I use one of my plastic or metal cigar tubes when I'm going out for the day on the bike.
Those are nice, a C.G. logo'ed tube would be pretty cool. definantly need a web adress.

A bit pricy, but kinda cool. Is there a website?

I am aware that not everyone needs such cigar tube, but I suppose our prices are still reasonable for custom handmade product. I am very glad that you like them, thank you :) unfortunately, cannot sell them for 20 bucks, sorry
Website is www.doutnikovapouzdra.cz, I'm working on english translation, but your browser translator plugin should translate it correctly for now.
Those only fit up to 48 ring gauge !!!!!!
The question was.... what about a group discount? How much for 50 standard tubes with initials?
I am in. Me myself and I really want one

Just looking at the examples you've provided in your posts here I can see your material costs alone for each tube most likely exceed $20 per copy! I don't think a lot of people realize how much the raw materials cost for finely made objects. Not everything is made in China you know!

It looks like he is catering to the Cuban cigar market, which would explain the 48 RG.
They are fine works of craftmanship, so I'd be interested in how much it would cost for a group buy as well.
those look really nice. a little pricy but the workmanship for these look amazing. Im wondering how much one that fits a 6x60 cigar would cost?

Hey Don, remind me not to pick you for my negotiating team :shy:
With a large shaper it would be easy to replicate these with only a couple passes through the band saw and shaper. A quick spin on a weenie roller into a sander after gluing the two haves back together and voila! It's not profitable to turn these out of a single block and most don't appear to be. My guess is they are veneers overlaying an aluminum tube..........

Would be interested in a group order. Would be interested in a Churchill size (180 mm X 20 mm).
XX
if you guy's do a group oder id like to get in on it.
So if we do a group order certain details will need to be agreed on.
Size: The 20 mm X 170 mm seems to be a no go. A Churchill size would be 20 mm X 180 mm. A Double Toro would be 24mm X 150 mm. What size would be agreeable?
Style: A plain style would run about $40 hopefully cheaper if 50 were purchased. A custom runs $75 hopefully cheaper if 50 were purchased. So what would be preferred? Would the custom just have a CG logo or individual initials?
Finally the big question : Can we get 50 geeks to agree on something? Hopefully cigarcigan can offer some suggestions and price structure?

That is correct. For bigger diameter I have to create a prototype as this size was always enough or too big (people smoke smaller cigars in EU I guess :-) )

They are all wooden. It can also be made on lathe, but to my experience such cigar tube is not as solid as it should be and cracks. And it's heavier.

Well, the reason I offerd the group buy was that there would be huge saving on shipping compared to every tube sent individually. Unfortunately, it's not a group by where the price is half, we are not Groupon :-) these are our products, making them still takes the same amount of work and time. But I know that would not be interesting for you, so I would make them for $65 each :-)
Good questions by all.

As I indicated I ordered three of these handmade tubes.
These guys have been really customer friendly. They have kept me informed of their progress and sent messages for me to make decisions about wood type, inlays, orientation of initials, status of prototypes (I asked for 7" tubes that would accommodate at least a 54 ring gauge), etc.
They sent this picture of their progress. We're waiting on additional inlay material and the lacquer will take a few weeks to apply and harden.
I've offered to remit a portion of the cost, but so far they have not asked for anything. So far, so good...
Beautiful so far!
Those are very nice indeed. :shades:
Cool, thanx for keeping us posted.
Wow, looking good!.
that would make an awesome gift, especially with a good cigar in it.
Looking good, and I'm looking forward to seeing the end product!
Updated progress on manufacturing of tubes - two of the three with the initial inlays. The brass on the dark wood looks amazing. They indicated they would be applying the glaze over the next few days. BTW - mine is the BWG, ADC and JDA (not shown with the inlays yet) are for my herfing friends.
Cool! They're gonna love those!!!
Those are coming along nicely!
Posting a couple more pictures I received today - there is one more round of polishing/drying over the next few days and then they should be ready for shipment.
Those look beautiful!.

I nominate you.
Well let me ask this question. How many of you would be interested in one that had something like "Geeks", "CG" or the like on it? Seems that if Longhorn has already had 3 made 7" that will fit up to a 54 they should have everything set up to make that size.

Nothing against Geeks, but I'd be more inclined to buy one that was more personalized. I'm not sure if that defeats the purpose of a group buy, though. Maybe if everyone can agree on the model, there might be an opportunity?
What do you say Cigarcigan? Are you willing to do a group order discount? And how many would it take to qualify for the discount?

Guess I worded that poorly. What I meant was 2, 3, 4 letters etc. some kind of standard. I'm sure he is going to want some sort of limit to things like if we only go with 2 letters may lower his costs and get us a better deal.
Main question was anyone tried coordinating. I would say sure I will do it but with the wife's unpredictable medical schedule right now I would hate to have something happen and this to fall through the cracks. But I am in for one
Hi,
I would suggest around 20pcs for the group buy. The only limit I would be that all the tubes should be the same sizes. The highest demand is for 190x25mm (62 ring), which is more expensive, but I could let them for $77 in group buy. The second favourite size is 170x22 (54 ring) which would be at around $68. No limitations for the model type or decorations, or number of characters. There will be individual price calculation for each tube. My goal with the group buy is to make more pcs at the same time, because making one piece by one is quite inconvenient.
Got a note that my cigar tubes are shipping - anxious to see the real thing versus a photo, but they look to be very nice. Keepsakes for sure... :-)
 Very nice indeed!!!
OK I gotta admit it I'm like a raccoon with shiny things!!! I want one so friggin bad
New upcoming product - Ebony with brass decorations, surface options in matte, glossy clearcoat or shellack. It looks much more better in real :)

OK guys have decided that I want one of these! Have started talking about details on ones the same size that Brad (Longhorn) ordered 7x54 inside. For an order of 3+ they will give the same $75 price which after talking to Brad he seems to think is more than fair for the craftsmanship he received. Need to know if there are 2 more of you that want to go in on this with me?
Please post or PM me and we can start talking about details on the order. Looks like about a 6 week +/- turnaround with payment due at the end.
No takers on the other 2? Talk to Brad (Longhorn) if in doubt about the value he just got 3 of them.
Keep in mind I will cover everything all the way up till the final bill is due in 6+ weeks so no money needed now. All you need to do is give your initials and any other changes you would like to have made.

you sure have to specify what model you want (models here http://www.doutnikovapouzdra.cz/index.php/en/products), or if its custom specify what wood and materials, size, initials and their layout.. and also you can choose what surface - roseus auri is for example matte (waxed)

Was going with the one that Brad use the Juglans Radix in a 7x54 size. From there you choose the wood etc. For you the Cherry and then your initials I haven't given him anything yet except for the details on mine. All we needed for him to START on them was the size and wood type.
Sorry but, Juglans is the Latin species name for Walnut Jeff (if I am not mistaken). The site doesn't really have model numbers per se but, rather design styles and wood choices.

Maple takes a blue stain quite well!
well, yeah, the reason was not that we could not get any wood in blue color, but that that it would not really match the overall "wooden" design of the tube, I dont think blue color would look good there, or would it?
That Birdseye Maple sure looks good in blue!
Well think my tube is all set up and ready for production :dancing:
Can tell you that now I know what Brad was talking about when he said they cover every detail! Fanda has made sure that he was crystal clear on every single detail of what I was looking for. o man haven't seen mine with my initials on it that looks great!
Nice, but I can use anyone of my hundreds of tin ones and like many have said a bit pricey. Kinda reminds me of my toy is bigger and better than your toy. Something to have at a party to show off. At any rate nice handy work. :bigthumbs:

You could say some of the same things about the car in avatar you have posted..... just a different perspective......I think they are wonderful pieces and as long as those who paid for them feel they got their money's worth....It's ALL GOOD!!!!

OK gents here is the latest update. We can have all 4 sent to me and the shipping is $25 or $6.25 each. If we have them shipped individually will run us $16 ea for shipping. I can get them out same day in a small USPS Flat Rate for $5.10 ea saving us $4.65 on shipping. Just LMK how you want us to work on this and we can make it happen. If you want to do the group shipping then you will need to send Fanda $81.25 each so they can go out as soon as they are done.
Here is the latest photos after a second coating: (and if you notice Brad mine has writing on it now! It's just different from the others :)
O M Goodness these are so beautiful!

I'm good whichever way you want to handle it. Who do I send the money to? Why don't I just add that $15 for the bovedas and send you $100?

That works.
Any further word on when these will be ready to ship?
Got a PM from him Wed and he said they had just put the 5th coat on them. Keeping in mind each layer takes that much longer to dry and can't box em till they're dry. I would think sometime next week they should be out though. Still waiting on 1 payment as well :-(

Hey guys paid everything up a couple of days ago. Got a PM today saying that the final layer was still a little tack so he was going to give it a few days before doing the final polish. I would think they should be here NLT the end of next week?

Those are really great looking. I might have to get in on the next mass order.
WOW!!!!!!! Those look so good! I'm glad I didn't second guess my self on these! May have to think about another purchase for Christmas for my old man!!!!!
Wow! Those are gorgeous!
Looking good! :bigthumbs:
When can we be expecting these wonderful pieces of art?
Hi it was rough week, but you can expect the tubes in next 2 weeks :)
Can i have one next time around pls
Those look great, as have all the others I have seen, I think im gonna have to get in on an order of these, very classy.
OK, looks like I got in today Mine, Brad (BKL) and Bryce (MBE) but only got 3 in the box?? Sent a message to see what's up with the 4th one anything on that one that I don't know about?
What was the final verdict? Did you get all the tubes and did you like the finished product?
Got mine and noticed a couple small spots where glue seeped out of the spiral seam of the veneer. This has also left a slight void in the finish as it sucked the poly up into the seam. Jeff tells me a light coat of wood polish removed this blemish but, I have yet to try it. Otherwise it looks great!

I saw Bryce's and I'm sooooo jealous! They turned out great.
Brad - the photo looks great. I've had numerous people remark how unique and attractive they are - haven't tried using it as a functional cigar holder as of yet though. It just sits on a shelf for now!
very nice craftsmanship, woul not mind having one or more
Got mine and LOVE it! There were just a few small spots so I took a soft cotton cloth with some Old English on it and they polished right out. To give some idea of scale used a 7x54 Liga Privada #9 Corona Doble in the photos. It fits in real nice and there is still about .25"+ left in length and will fit I'm guessing a 58 RG max.
Carried it with me to the B&M last weekend and everyone just loved it and wanted to know where they could get one. Told em they just had to be special
Those are very cool, the more I see the more I like them.

wow that looks great, can I use the pics? :)
I am glad you like your tubes :) .. don't forget to polish it with microfiber from time to time, so the brass will not oxide so quickly
at the present we are working on the last tube that got the incorrect initials so it can be delivered to its owner
An RyJ Havoc Magnum, which is 6x60, just barely squeezes into the tube but, I worry some damage could occur trying to get it out again if it gets in too deep. Interestingly, the RyJ Clemenceau en Tubo fits just perfect inside the wooden one, tube and all.....There is enough room in the top to accept the tubo's cap. I am thinking for 50 ring size cigars this might be better to use the tubo as well so it doesn't bounce around as much.
Jeez I should probally stop being last and post a pic of mine.
