Hello Geeks.

The 2013 Camacho Liberty’s are planned to be released sometime in September (or so says my contact). You can view pics/details here: http://www.halfwheel.com/news-camacho-liberty-2013-details-emerge/ (http://www.halfwheel.com/news-camacho-liberty-2013-details-emerge/) I plan to pick up some boxes at the best price I can find and do a big multi box split.

For those new to CG, I’ve done this for a few years now. You can check my feedback to gage how I deal with BOTL’s.

I have requests in to retailers already; I should be able to get box(s) at a good price. These went for $12/cigar the last 2 years; I think prices should be close to that this year. Hopefully, there will be no surprises on the pricing. And I do hope this year’s cigar will be as good as the ‘05/’09 offerings…..

1 to 4 Liberty’s in their coffins will ship in a $5.00 USPS priority box (as long as they do not resize the coffins); over 4 would take the $11.00 box. I will ship to Canada, but the confiscation/taxation risk is the buyer’s responsibility.

Payment can be made via either PaaPall or a money order by snail mail. When paying by PP, you must choose the “Gift’’ option and make NO reference to tobacco, cigars etc. Damn PP cops…… The email address listed in my profile is my PP identity, and the PO box in my profile is the address to send money order payments to.

DO NOT send payment now, I’ve got to get the cigars locked in first.

I and my supplier will be sponsoring a Geek Critique of the 2013 Camacho Liberty as well; 5 of the participants in this box split will be selected as Geek Critique’ers, and get an extra Liberty for the GC.

One of the “issues” I’ve had with these distributions the past 2 years is that quite a few participants ask if they can have a chest. The #1 reason I’ve split $3000 worth of cigars the past 2 years is I wanted the chests for my cabinet; they fit it perfectly, and are DAMN hard to come by. I finally filled my cabinet, so this year I’m going to make some of the chests available (I’m keeping 2, I am a collector….). If you want a chest, you have to buy all 20 cigars. Perhaps split them up with some guys you know outside of CG. I think that’s a fair deal, you get a chest, and I get a bit less work. Shipping on a full chest will be $15-20, in my estimation.

Just curious to see who might want a few. When responding please use the format listed below. And it’s no problem if this goes to 10 boxes, as I don’t mind the work. I enjoy doing this every year. I am a bit of a Camacho fan.

Here are the current stats: we are at 13 chests, with 5 weeks remaining until the release date. I had a chat with the Camacho rep at the Tweet Up, he said that he had smoked one, and it reminded him of the 2009. That would be damn nice, if it proves out.

OK...you want ENVY....

I started the box split with my Cigar Club last night....and we had 2 guys who had bought multiple who decided to light one up....

Both are avid cigar smokers with vast experiences with different cigars both expensive and not.

First expressions were BLISS....they were in heaven...LOL

EASY draw
Peppery at first that smooths out to heavy coffee flavors...flavor intensifies as you get into it
stick started to get a little softer to hold towards the end BUT they didn't see this as a negative
Ash was white to light grey and SLIGHTLY flaky from what I saw but held strong.

Both guys absolutely LOVED this cigar and I received MANY Thank You's throughout their smoke...lol

Let me tell you the temptation is STRONG to light these up!!!!

I don't have a humi big enough for it box and all, so I took 1 out and put it in one of my humi's then put a water pillow into the empty space and basically using the box as it's own humi. I'll keep an eye on them to make sure it's maintaining humidity but so far so good. So yes, still in their coffins and in the box, but using the box as the humi.

I lit up a 2008 Liberty recently that had been in its coffin, in the tissue, the whole time. After seeing this I broke the seal on my remaining 2008 coffin just to take a look, and it was also fine. Removed the tissue paper anyway while I was at it. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

I agree not to leave them stored in tissue. I may differ with you on some cedar-sleeved cigars, but no point going into that here.

After I remove the tissue, however, I keep them in their coffins.

I bought a couple lfd duo diadema a while back and left them closed in their coffins. I checked one after only about 2 months and noticed mold just beginning to form on the wrapper. I cleaned it off and since then have beem storing coffins with lid off or at least partially open. With this many liberty coffins that could be a pain, but glad I asked cuz sounds like we need to open them all anyways to get the tissue issue flushed :biggrin:.

I remove tissue and coffins. I had one of my 2012s which I neglected to store properly get some mold. Luckily I caught it very early on. But I'd strongly recommend storing them outside of tissue at minimum, outside of coffin and tissue if you're paranoid.

That is what I do as well, and I have yet to have an issue.

I simply just hold onto them in a drawer for the stand which accompanies my coolidor. I'm definitely not advocating you HAVE to remove from coffins to prevent mold (though I would open the coffins) - I was just overly paranoid when I saw the small bit of mold and was rearranging my coolidor at that time anyway. They fit better in my current set up without the coffin, so that's who I have them.

But definitely remove the tissue.

That's pretty much a wrap on this years Liberty Distribution. Boxing up 40 orders sure did make me think of nwb; must be one H$LL of a lot of work doing the Cigars for Troops donation every year. Good on ya Nathan.

The last salvo is all boxed up and ready to ship. 2 Geeks never responded to payment requests; they both have not logged in in ~60 days. So, I've got 2 Geeks interested in getting in; PM's have been sent. I still need to leave feedback to all y'all. I've been too damn busy to smoke one, but that will change this week.

Monday was a federal holiday. It was shipped yesterday. And sometimes USPS tracking doesn't work very well.
