I have the baby on the way in May as well. So depending on how many people we have Brian might be better for me to stay closer to the front end of this (if you are generating the order as people join where I am is fine). Also just an idea but if you want to put Chuck and I beside each other it might make things just a tiny bit faster as we could just do a handoff. Just an idea. Not trying to tell you how to run your pass, as I ahve never moderated one.

But just so there are no surprises, February would not be good for me as I will be living at the hotel for 2-3 weeks while the remodelling is taking place in my house. March and on is fine. So if you'll have me, better place me later than sooner in the order.

 He will pick the cigars he wants and I will ship only those to him.  He will in return tell me what he is sending and sending just those to me.  cost will be low, I will do him at the end to make sure his remodeling is done

Not a dumb question at all! There are customs issues involved when sending passes back and forth to Candanaistan. Rather than take the risk for the whole shootin' match to be held up in Customs Limbo and perhaps heavy duties being assessed we routinely let the members from up North make their takes and puts from long range. That way only a relative handful of sticks are involved.

Correct - if, by chance, customs finds them they will level duty and taxes on the entire lot and/or confiscate the goods.  Sending only a few sticks reduces the chances of this significantly.

Ok, I'm all packed and transitioned to Jared.  Going in the mail Monday, or Tuesday if they are closed due to the holiday.

 Just a reminder especially to the newer faces, when the pass is on its way to you, take a look at the cigars and have an idea which ones you want and what you are going to put in.  This will speed up the turn around time for the next player.  Of course everybody changes their minds once they actually see them and that is ok.

 Don't forget to get tracking #'s and enter them, as well as your puts and takes.  Hold on to your receipt until the next player says he has it just in case something goes wrong or the post office looses it.  Make sure you click on the transition to next player so they can enter their stuff.

 I am sending the pass the farthest away from me so I am the one taking the largest shipping cost, and working its way back East to me.  Chris will be sending the box back to me, and I will then do the 3 virtual passes with our non US BOTL's.  I will be leaving feedback for everyone at once at the closing of the pass.

 Most of all, have a fun and a good time with the pass.  We don't bite, if you have a question ask it this forum or PM myself or anyone else.  Like the saying goes, A stupid question is a question not asked.....

Very nice Lawdaddy.  That is a man with a plan, did put and takes and shipped very quickly.  Thanks Brother.

Just a note to future players, the tupperware I put it in was the largest I could find.  When stacked in the bags this should do the trick.  There is bubble wrap inside as well, if you need to discard some for cigar room please do so.  If at any point its not looking like this is going to work and you want to replace the container just let me know and I will send money to who does that.  Im thinking this should do it, but you never know.

 Yah its a big one, takes about 2 hours for a fast smoker, 2-1/2  hours I sat at a B&M where they were released and watched others enjoying it.

 Of the two recent releases by DE I prefer the Nica Rustica over the KFC. The KFC isn't bad but have really grown to like the Nica.

One note I forgot to add. The LFD Doomsday stick has a slight bend to it from packaging. I did not see any damage, cracks or otherwise to it. I positioned it in the box so that maybe it would straighten out a bit without pushing on it.

And really...what the f%#k is LFD thinking with this thing?? I mean you could lacquer this puppy up, and it would probably be a great gift for your spouse or girlfriend! Holy Cow that thing is huge!!    :shy:  :biggrin:

They are pretty awesome.  They are an exclusive to the cigar shop were I go to smoke.  I was there the day before the release day and the rep there smoking one, as well as a few locals.  They were massive and I could of finished 3 cigars by the time they got done with that one.

These can be pretty tricky.  I usually have an idea which ones I want in advanced, but thoughts change once you actually see them sitting in front of you.

Just a little Thank You to all who have taken a turn so far.  This has been a nice pass to date, and considering the amount of players moving along quite nicely.  Also noticing that of the original 15 cigars I placed in the pass, only 3 of them remain which is really cool.  Only 5 more players to go and its off to the virtual pass turns.  Great job guys and looking forward to the final half.
Again if anybody feels the box is too stuffed, or needs a small box added, or the original packing box needs replacing, please feel free to do so and I will gladly reimburse you for your efforts.  The removal of the 10" cigar I'm sure made room for others.

Guys, I'm curious about the Leaf and Bean.

Are the L&B by Oscar, L&B by Esteban and L&B by Noel all the same line of cigars.

And also, what wrapper does the one in the pass have?

They are techincally different lines as they are all blended by diferent people. The L&B by Oscar is blended by Oscar Valladares and it had a tobacco leaf wrapped around it instead of cello. The Noel is blended by Noel Rojas from Roma Craft Tobac. And the Esteban is from Esteban Disla from the Nica Sueno factory. Chuck knows a lot more about all of these blends than I do so he should be able to chime in more on them as well as the wrapper for this particulaer stick. I hope that helps at least a little bit

I always research all pass cigars, learn a thing or two doing so and make better choices for my takes and my puts. But the L&B by Noel isn't an easy cigar to research, not much about it on the Web, at least not where I'm looking.

Yeha, he has only released them to a couple of stores I believe. If you are interested in trying any of them I would not mind stopping and picking some up for you and sending them your way, I'm sure Chuck would offer the same.

The L&B cigars that I've tried have all been good.

Small correction to the information above.  Noel Rojas owns his own factory and company - Guayacan.  His cigars are distributed by the House of Emilio.

There isn't much about Jim's cigars out there yet and I have been trying to get him to step up his marketing. I will tell you that all of them are very good IMHO. The Noel is my favorite. Like Brad mentioned in the original line by Oscarb Besides the unique leaf in place of a cello the bands are made from the Guava tree, yep the same tree that produces that wonderful drink tequila.  Also there is a single leaf in the filler that comes from a special volcanic field in NIC. Jim doesnt say much about that particular leaf but from what I have been able to get out of him it is pretty rare. 

Jim will be doing a national launch at the next ICPR. Right now these are limited to Jim's Leaf & Bean shops here in Pittsburgh and about 17 other B&M in the northeast. All cigars are only available in a toro.

Great Michael.  Yes when you are done you will send it to chrism305.  I know its your first pass but if you need any help we are here to help a brother along.  Go into the pass when you are ready to do your selections, when you click cigars you should see a few boxes to check for the ones you are taking and another selection where you add your puts.  Just make sure you click confirm to save the entries.  Once you have the tracking #, enter that as well and then hit transition to chris.  His address is in the participants tab.

I think I rambled on too long, but take your time and have fun with your selections.  Any questions please ask, we work as a team around here.

The tracking number was entered wrong, but Chris has let me know that it arrived safely today in his hands.  It will be on its way back to me and I will then start up the Virtual trading.  Hope you guys are ready. I know one of you are, and thats awesome to see a game plan.

Got this rather large box in the mail today from Chris.  Happy to say I did a check list and all the cigars are there and in excellent shape.  Also a few others, which I got to say thank you to all of you who did that.  In order to not influence the remaining players, I will post some pics after everyone else is done.  My mouth hit the floor on this one, guys you are great BOTL.
So with that being said, Mojo you are up.  Do your normal takes and puts and I will pick up on what you selected and send them right out.  We are almost done here.

Puts and takes done.

Puts going to Brian, box left this morning. Pass transitioned to Karl.

It was great fun playing in this pass, such a great way to learn about new cigars and get to know geeks better.

By the way, some of the prices on my puts might appear high to some but surprising as it is, some I paid even more for but didn't want to enter real price paid. Did not want to be perceived as either a fool paying crazy prices for common cigars  (living in Canada you get used to being ripped off by B&Ms and shipping fees) or a price inflating maniac :-0

So if I transgressed any rule or did not follow etiquette on this one, please let me know, I plan on participating in many passes to come.

Great job on your puts and takes.  If I got it right, these are your cigars.  Please note the Macanudo has slight wrapper peeling where the metal band has was sliding around. A little tender loving care this should be just fine.

Brian, the picture, what a nice touch. How much more virtual can this be. Do you have a pic of the whole box?

I see what you mean for the Macanudo. You can remove the band AFAIAC, should avoid further damage. Just put it in the box somewhere, I'll take a look at it while I smoke the cigar. For some strange reason, I think it's the 1st one I'll smoke. I've never had a Macanudo and it's the one cigar in the bunch I know least about. That wrapper sure looks promising.

I have some pics that I'll post up when everyone is done.  The cigar is in a finger bag and its not going anywhere, I got it packed really good so I think.

It's a Viaje 5th Anniversary.  It is hard to see, its a white label with white standout lettering.  Its kinda hard even to read in my hand, I had to tilt it sideways under a light to read it.  I would take a better shot, but I got them packed and sealed in a box already.

My bad guys, got the box back today saying I need to use a PS Form.  But no where on there site is it giving me an option to fill it out.  Will get them to do it for me tomorrow and reship.

Well I had the post office help me with the customs forms.  The online click and ship kept saying I didn't need one and wouldn't allow one to be attatched.  Anyway, looks like its getting there, May 10th it was last seen in Chicago

Ok folks, Looks like this one has come to the end.  Jarred's takes have hit the Military PO, so I will assume he either has them or will within a few days.  I want to thank everyone for playing in this pass.  It was a large one and some great sticks being added and removed by all of you.  I can't thank you enough for the great success and large amount of cigars that I received in the end.  To give you a breakdown, I started it off with 15 cigars, the final total that came back to me was 28, and between the gifts and bombs launched there were another 23 cigars added in the mix.  Total cigars was 51 and I will post the pics below.  I am always blown away by Geek generosity on this site.

Thank you again everyone, and hope to do it again with you all.  I have left feedback for everyone, if I missed you please speak up and I will get right on it.
