Title: 1000 ct Humidor
Post by: LawDaddy on 01/16/2014 01:40 PM
Anyone have experience with this model?  It doesn't look like it can really hold 1000 sticks.

Is this the same one?  Half the price. But it also says 1000 ct http://www.cheaphumidors.com/p_cabinet-humidors_HUM-1200M.html

Mine is 6 foot tall, has twice as many shelves, and is rated for 1,000 cigars (I have 850 in it, and it is pretty full)

It certainly looks the same.  I don't see how 1000 cigars fit into 23" W x 17" D x 35" H

I am sure the assumption is that they are all smaller cigars. It might hold 1000 coronas but not 1000 Churchills. I'm sure Jackal has a variety of sizes and he said he is near max at 850.

Maybe if you remove all the shelves and just stack cigars on top of each other. :-0  :-0  :-0

I didn't make that connection. I don't know much if anything about these larger units. Would that make up the $350 difference?

I'm wondering if someone didn't mistakenly hit an extra zero and it should have been 100 ct?!

I wouldn't guess more than 300 in that thing.  Stuffed.  And I prefer smaller sizes like coronas.

Maybe around 500 stacked...didn't see the dimensions but with 3 shelves that sounds about right.

I have that identical one. It held pretty damn close. Had a lot of boxes and 3 trays filled with singles. If I had to guess it was around 700 to 800.

I wish I would've counted them before I transferred over to the large tower. It's quite deceiving and holds more than what you think and it's a great humidor.  I did add some foam strip insulation and always kept it locked for a better seal. The magnets didn't hold the door as right as I liked but locking it sure did. Right now it's holding all my damaged cigars from the Xmas eve disaster :-(

It just looks so small!  They should add some props to the photos to give a better size perspective or something.  It looks nice, and the stats say it has two outlets, but it just looks so small!!!

23 x 17 x 35 are the dimensions for the unit shown.  That is very close to half size of many 3,000 clamied capacity towers (same depth and width, a little less than half height).

Jackal says: "Mine is 6 foot tall, has twice as many shelves, and is rated for 1,000 cigars (I have 850 in it, and it is pretty full)."

Most 6 footers claim capacity of 3,000.  Why do you have such a small one, smaller than normal at any rate?

I don't know what the matter is with you people.  Luckily for me I don't care.

No I don't hang around.  I come around now and then and if the stupidity level  isn't too toxic, I might comment.  Congratulations on raising it up again Rebecca.

Look at ads for 6 foot humidors.  See if most do not claim 3,000 capacity.  Don't you wonder why someone posts that their 6 foot humidor holds only 1/3?  Wouldn't you want to know what model that is so you can buy the one that holds three times as many cigars?  Wow, that is controversial.

Probably not.  too busy thinking about my underwear i guess.  Oh, or joking about my penis size or joininng in and agreeing ' Oh that's a good one.'  Oh yeah- brilliant!

My posts aren't for the benefit of the idiots.  Those who think understand.

At an earlier post, someone said something about getting feedback points.  Why would I want feedback from any of you?

Yeah, just for future reference, manufacturers always rate the capacity based on 44 ring gauge coronas.

FNA...sounds as though you have some abandonment issues as well. Why so negative? I am guessing that you come here from other sites, and are used to being treated with no class. Then you come on here, and can't understand why we care so much about each other, so you feel it necessary to come by on occasion, and prove your assumed "superiority"? There are other sites for that, not this one. I suggest you stay on those sites. OR...

You can humbly swallow your pride, toss out a few bombs to folks, acquire a sense of humor, learn to laugh at yourself, respectfully bust some b@lls, and join our community. It's never too late to say I'm sorry...if you mean it!

It's such a shame when cigar folks from other sites find this one, and they just don't get us geeks. They sure are missing out on what we geeks know is the best AND only site needed for any cigar loving fool!.    :shy:

Maybe because whomever made the claim was being honest.

Yes, I could double what is in there by cramming it full of boxes, but I want decent air flow.

I have a built in with internal dimensions of 23 x 27 x 32 - larger than the one in question - and I guaran-damn-ty you ain't get'n 1000 cigars in that thing unless you're grinding them up and putting the loose leaf tobacco in it.  And for you FNA, I own a cabinet humidor with depth and width greater than any tower I've ever seen - stands at 5' 6" - and I guaran-damn-ty you you ain't get'n 3000 sticks in a standard 6 food tower unless you've already smoked 'em and you're only store'n the ash.  So, the question for you is, why do you think people boast of having bigger ones?
