Joined this pass a couple days ago. Excited as this will be my first pass. Joined this site in hopes to further my hobby with things like trades/passes/bombs. mThanks for having me.
I'll hop in... Request sent.
Awesome! Think we can get it started soon then! Nice job filling this up geeks!
Ok fellow geeks we are filled up. I am gonna (try to) go through the list and set it up according to closest shipping to keep the sticks in the least amount of transit between participants. Please bear with me as this is my first pass. Should have it on the way by Friday!
I will update when it's enroute!
First box is packed up and going out tomorrow.
Please any seasoned "Passers" please let me know if I did anything wrong if you see a problem. I am a virgin passer. :?:
Just try not to beat me up too bad.
Excited for you buddy, it will be fun

Awesome job, my friend! So stoked we got 12 geeks into this. Gonna be a great time! I noticed my brother has the box right before me and then ships it along. He's told me many times that his favorite "Everyday stick" is a Liga Privada T52 FFP, so I'll be expecting a couple in the box when it arrives at my house. Oh wait, under $3 you said? I thought it was $30! :-)

Something is going on with my outbox here and it won't send my pm's to Vexxum. I tried 3 times and they won't leave my inbox?

I'm rather excited to see where this goes!
For some reason this cigar pass is showing in both the current list and also in the completed cigar pass list. Anyone know why that may be?
Now that I look a little farther I see there are a few others that are in both areas. :?:
Those are closed or completed, since you closed it to new entrants, that is why it is showing there.
I got the messages and tracking number. Thanks and looking forward to this pass. Is the $3 max what we paid for them or are we going off of MSRP on cigar.com for a box?

I am figuring on what we paid for em, but either way works. Just a guideline.
I rarely make it a habit to pay full price. LOL
This looks to be fun. My first pass.

You should see your pass in all 3 categories. Its closed because you locked it, Its in the currently in progress, as well as your pass section.
That top one will always be there even after this is all said and done. It keeps a list of all passes you have been included in, which is nice when trying to go back and revisit one.
The package was waiting for me in my mailbox when I got home today. I will have it out by Tuesday since tomorrow is a holiday. Takes and puts are finished.
Johncw you're next on the list. Are you ready for this?
This package will be out on Tuesday and should be there Thursday/Friday.

Nice puts and takes. Looking forward to the package late this week.
Great job.. But i think it may be need reduce. but i can't reduce it. every day i spend $10 for smoke... it's much for me..
Checked the shipping this morning. USPS picked the package up yesterday and it looks like it will be there by Friday, February 21.
Brian, just now noticed that you pass to me. Neat but would have been great if I pass to you. Would have been a chance to repay you for the bomb.

Way to keep it rollin so far!!
johncw commented that the Don Jesus should be robusto and not lonsdale, I just put down what I had ordered when I got them could be wrong. I am pretty new but the package I got said lonsdale. Sorry for the mistake fellow Geeks.
If it shows up Monday as USPS claims it will, I will be able to flip it on Tuesday.

I'm just basing it on what the DB says and what they actually measure. No worries if they are miss-marked, lord knows I've done that plenty of times when submitting a picture to the DB. I'm fairly knew as well just wanted to point it out so someone else can verify.

I agree as well. The sticks barely fit in there and didn't have a larger box to put them in. Wanted to make sure I got the pass out asap as I was first.
Thanks for doing this. Good job geeks on the pass.
Kent - Mind if I switch things over to finger bags? I feel they are safer for transportation instead of standard baggies. Any thoughts from any of the other members?
Finger bags are the way to go on a pass, I need to get some. I say go for it. I think I still have a few $3 cigars on tap when it comes around to me

OK so I switched to finger bags and put it in a small tuperware container, we may need a larger one by the end of this. I unfortunately do not have any Boveda Packs, does anyone coming up have any? I want to get this out tomorrow, but I can delay it a day or 2 if you guys want me to scoop up some Bovedas from my B&M. I don't mind, I just need time to do it.
I also put some extra finger bags in the box for future sticks, plus I added a Host bag for the host.
Enjoy!!!
Holy cow, I'd say you've done more than enough, Joe! Adam is next, and I know he has Boveda packs (or similar cheapie travelers) he can throw in, and I definitely do as well so we should be covered. But I'll leave that up to you, of course. Thanks a ton!

Lol yeah I'd heard of those but never smoked one I'd been wanting 2 give it a run was surprised it was in! Enjoyed the pass!
I put some humi pillows in the box so should help. Didn't have any more boveda packs, but I sealed the box up tight so we should be ok, but it is getting pretty tight it might need another box soon!
Thanks again for having me!
Thinking we may have lost a few posts on here?? Can everyone double check and re enter info if needed? Thanks
Hey folks! Please don't put Humi-packs or water pillows in direct contact with the cigars. They have a tendency to burst and leak goo on the cigars!!!!!! Bovedas are ok to be in contact with the cigars........
Sorry I've been checked out for a couple days, fellas...kinda gave up on even checking the site as it was getting frustrating. I had transitioned the pass earlier this week, but that all got lost in the server trouble, so I just went ahead and re-did my puts/takes and updated shipping info. Longhorn was supposed to receive the package yesterday, so hopefully all is well! Great job so far, everyone...keep it up!

Hope not, I added the humi pillows but set them at the bottom of the box & the cigars were all in finger bags....think it's just FYI that they can leak...I learned that not very long ago unfortunately!!!

Probably, also keep in mind if you are using those, to open them and check on them. I used them before I switched to Boveda packs and they would turn black and get pretty slimey. I did not want them in the humidor anymore.
Yeah they are pretty cheap and those were brand new, I pitch them after I use the typically but thanks for the tips tho! I've never seen a black one!!! I don't want them in my humidor either! I really liked your guys article on recharging the boveda packs tho! That I didn't not know you could do!
Yeah I didn't know you could recharge them either for a long time. When they dried up I threw them out and bought new ones. Rookie mistake, but I know now.
Yeah those are about $4 each and that can get pricy they are real nice and I try to keep a few on hand, but I ran out when I was putting my pass together so all I had was pillows left. But I used to throw the boveda packs out as well but I will try to recharge them now even if they aren't as accurate after you recharge them it's still a good deal
Pass received - will give it a thorough check and get it on it's merry way in the morning!
Pass inspected and a couple of minor adjustments:
There is a bag (looks like it was started to by Joe) that has cigars meant to be gifts for Kent. There were two sticks in the pass inventory in this bag and they have been moved to a different bag. The gift bag is clearly marked now.
There were two of the Garo Double Habano Robusto instead of one - I put the other in Kent's gift bag courtesy of Adam (the total number of cigars transitioned to me was 17 - this added cigar made it 18 physically).
There was only one Thompson Explorer Habano Toro instead of two (I physically took this as one of my takes.) There was a Don Pepin Garcia Tabacos Baez Serie H Monarcas instead of the Thompson cigar - I executed a virtual put/take to correct this.
Finally, the Tupperware was getting a little tight so I added a second one and re-boxed everything.
Brian, when you get it, please double check my work...
Thanks for having me, Kent!

I'm not surprised...my local USPS has been pretty bad lately. Off by 2-3 sometimes 4 days?! Anyways nice job again everybody!
I don't know whats going on. Kinda annoyed with the post office at this point, well I guess we wait until tomorrow to see if it gets found somewhere. Makes me worry because I just sent the Nice Ash on Top pass out and its at the same point. Probably going to beat the first one to its destination.

If it makes a difference to the rest of you about the age, I have had them resting for 507 days and I bought a 5 pack off Jackal who had them resting for 1099 days before that.

Looks like the USPS has put the brakes on the pass
This baby was flying thanks to all the fantastic Geeks involved :bigthumbs:
Tracking has showed a stalemate for basically 5 days
Hopefully jumberlack gets the box still in good condition, I am starting to worry :nono:

I have been watching it too, it is moving slow. They offered an express? service @ $50.00 :-0 It was a little rich for me

At least it is moving now, it sat pretty still for quite awhile. Should be all good.
$50 would be too rich for my blood too for sure.
Been a week sitting stagnant on tracking
If nothing happens I will see if I can track it down with a couple phone calls. :puncher:
:bump: :bump:
Wow, it is slow going, I thought it would be there by now
Wondering why the box was shipped overseas in the first place?

This was shipped to a fellow geek using a US Army PO Box in Korea, should be fine as long as USPS does their job.
The last package I sent to jumberlack took almost 3 weeks, which I thought was very abnormal.
I have seen them take 4-5 days or up to a month! They do seem to get to Korea faster than Germany though...... :?:
I have an email in to the USPS to see if they can give me a reason for the delay. Hopefully I hear something back in a few days.

Cross the fingers. I'm sure it's ok, just taking a long time. By the way, getting an email answer from the post office takes twice as long, at least thats been my expeirience.
Here is the reply I received from USPS this morning
" Your parcel left San Francisco CA 94128 on 4 / 13 /14 I do not know if the military uses planes or ships to ship your parcel. Once in the military's hands I do not know how long it would take to get to Korea. "
At least we have movement again :dancing:
Keep your eyes peeled for it jumberlack
So it just left San Fran yesterday.......
Might be there soon unless........

Any word on this or still waiting for the USPS

USPS says once it is in the military's hands there is no more tracking. It is going to jumberlacks Army PO box so I assume it is in their hands since it left CA. Hoping he gets it soon.
The SJFTH Pass is gonna pass it up.
I have going to him as well in about a week or so. We will see how that goes.
From this recent experience, I think that it might be better if I am a virtual pass. I just don't understand, i had a package leave Calafornia on the 19th and got here yesterday. Had a package leave Iowa on the 14th and got here yesterday. But this was in California on the 2nd, then still on the 13th, and still has not arrived. I can replace this pass if it was lost to the best of my ability, but this just stinks. I'm sorry guys!

No worries brother, Let's just give it some time and see what plays out. This isn't your fault. Perhaps Don can check into the insurance claim on the package if nothing happens by months end.
This is exactly why it is a bad idea to send a box pass out of the country. :shades:

I tend to agree, but an APO is pretty reliable. I've never seen a pass or trade get lost or get held up like this.

x2 just sent him his takes from my pass as well so we"ll see when those land
Now it processed through Chicago as of today, really weird! I hope it lands somewhere soon. I thought going to an APO address it would be ok. IMO, I would be reserved in sending a pass overseas again.

That is weird, looks like it circled the States for a while and now in Chicago IL. At least the USPS found it.

Ohhhh,,, I seem to remember one pass that supposedly left an APO never to be seen again!
I apologize everyone I should have not allowed the overseas to happen with the pass. I also assumed with the APO it would be fine. If there is a way for Don to stop the shipment and send it back to me I could have Lumberjack go "Virtual".
It seems that we can not rely on any shipping that goes out of the norm
Once again I do apologize for this
No sweat here! After all,,, it's primarily your cigars that have been traveling around the country for the past month!
Good thing they have some humidification although, there's no telling how well the box has been treated all this time!

Somehow, I don't think that was the PO's fault..... :shades:
Looks like some good news Hopefully :dancing:
"April 30, 2014 , 6:30 am
Arrival at Military Post Office
APO, AP 96271 "
Took the long way and a few not so nice emails to the USPS but it looks like the Eagle has landed

Unforgettable is right
Package is showing out for delivery from my local PO. I should receive it late this afternoon to close up this pass.
It's an awesome feeling when a pass is getting wrapped up and on its last leg. Thanks again, it was fun

That's for sure, especially it being my first ever pass and being the mod and the month long USPS stall  , I was getting pretty nervous. :banghead:
Looks good now though :singing:
A HUGE Thank You to everyone who participated in my 1st pass. First off I want to apologize for starting off with such a small container and packing. It was my first ever pass and I was not even thinking and had no idea what to expect. Also want to thank everyone who added the Gift sticks for me, Greatly appreciated. This forum has become a very regular part of my everyday life and I consider all of you friends and am very happy with the welcome that I have received since becoming a member of CG. Seriously, words can not describe the way I feel for the friends I have made here already and I am sure there are plenty more to come.
Long Ashes and Happy Puffing to All
Thanks Again Kent
:word: Well said Kent! I feel the same! Great group of geeks! Nice pass! I'm also wrapping up my 1st pass!
