It'll be good for me too as I'll be out of my house for a remodelling that is taking so much longer than planned. I'll be living at the hotel for 3 weeks starting next Monday. Access to my stash will be possible during that period but much more troublesome.

Its a fun idea, but as a newb all my "special occasion" cigars are singles I haven't tried yet, so passing them along would defeat my purpose.  Maybe next go around I will have things better figured out.

No, you"re not to late, but you have 0 feedbacks & this is the first time I've ever seen you post. So unless you can get a couple geeks to vouch for you I'm gonna have to ask you to sit this one out. This being my 1st pass I'd like everything to go smoothly.

Here are some of the "Special Occasions" behind my puts.....

Married When "Pigs Fly" - A couple of years ago, Judy and I went to Las Vegas and posted this picture on Facebook with no explanation. The Moms just about went crazy thinking we had eloped! So now the skeptical running joke is that we'll get married "when pigs fly". Of course all of you know that pigs actually do fly, so now there are no holds barred! Gonna break out a box of these at the bachelor herf!

Uncle Tony - A long-time cigar lover, teacher, coach, umpire, recent inductee into his alma mater's college football hall of fame, and just an all round great guy. We live far apart and only get to see each other once or twice a year. So when we do get together, it is truly a special occasion...  like this past xmas when we got to enjoy a couple of EPC Federal 92's together.

50th Birthday coming up in 2016 - The plan is to do the Grand Traverse in the Tetons and smoke one of the Rocky Patel 50's I've been saving. (not necessarily in that order).

Looking forward to hearing some of your "Special Occasions"!

I love the Monte CC versions, and everyone should get a chance to try one.  I mean Dominican, right, Domincan.
I have never had a bad EP Carrillo, (except the INCH) and the Limited Editions are great.  Haven't smoked a '13 yet, but I don't expect to be disappointed.
The maddie Hemingways are always delicious, and the Untold Story is hard to come across, I thought someone would enjoy that.
How can you go wrong with a T52, I always make sure I have time set aside for them, and the Corona Doble needs about 2 hours.

Hope someone enjoys, looks like John already snatched that Untold Story up.

This is a special edition Fuente made exclusively for Smoke Inn by Carlito Fuente. Fuente cigars tend to have impeccable construction and are consistently very good. What better way to enjoy a special occasion than with a consistently good special edition smoke.


Bolivar (Cuban) Royal Coronas (tubed)
You can't beat starting the day with a fine CC. Bolivar is one of those consistently good smokes and hey, it comes in a tube so you can take it with you to enjoy somewhere special.

Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Serie L40
These tend to be hard to come by. The lancero is an elegant vitola and this one is made by Drew Estate. This smoke would make a great mid-day birthday smoke (it's like one really long candle).

Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2011
Pelo d' Oro, need I say more? Pelo d' Oro is a tough crop to grow which is rarely used and when it's used in a cigar you know it's a special smoke.

Yup it's ok with me! Like I've said I don't want to restrict puts/ takes to much because of the theme, people smoke different cigars on different special occasions so they might vary or might be similar in some cases.

I seeded a pig & John also put a pig so it's all good with me :biggrin:

Had that happen to me too. The other BS that the mailman will pull is tossing my parcel over my balcony, even if I am home.  He could just leave it on my doorstep or knock and hand it to me.   :angry:

I got the box from the PO yesterday. The box itself is looking pretty rough, but I have one the same size to replace it with. Everything else is looking good.

I'll probably need a couple of days to sample all of these and make my choices.

Why I chose these cigars for the Special Occasion Pass:

MF Le Bijou Petite Robusto- This was the first cigar where I truly picked up the nuances of flavor profiles. This cigar made me want to find more sticks that allowed me to do so. I would go to one of our coffee houses in Austin, and buy these from Habana House when they were located inside the coffee shop. My wife and I would sit outside, drinking coffee, as she read a book and I enjoyed this little slice of heaven! I have been enjoying cigars for a little over 2yrs now, and this cigar continues to impress me. Solid construction, excellent flavor profile, and...it's just dog gone great!!! If I had to choose only one cigar to smoke for the rest of my days, this one is still the one that I would choose. Love em!!

Grimalkin by Emilio- This cigar blew me away the first time I had one, and it continues to do so. To me, it is a very complex cigar, with just the right amount of body and strength, although the strength of this cigar is not what it is all about. The flavor profile is extraordinary, and they have proven to get even better with age. Simply put, it's just a wonderful cigar.

DPG JJ Salomon- My former boss turned me onto these, and I am so glad he did. It is a work of art in of itself, and rumor is that Pepin himself rolls these. The way they look and perfom, I believe it. When I have the time, and want to really treat myself, this is my go to cigar. It is not overly complex, but has enough going for it, that after finishing one in 2-2.5 hrs, I am completely satisfied...and can't wait for my next one!

Camacho Liberty 2013- A newer cigar, but also a great cigar. I know some folks reviewed these and said they need a little more time, but I did not feel that way. For me, this was a flavor bomb, with the profile changing, mixing up, and building in strength, all the while, staying incredibly smooth. I have enjoyed some of the other Liberty sticks, but this one held it's own right from the start. I have a few squirreled away in the humidor, ready for that next, special occasion.

Also it appears that the pass landed today according to USPS tracking in Beautiful Buda :bigthumbs: Brian had already done his p/t's so he was ready to roll once it landed :-) This pass has been evolving and moving along great. Again all geeks who have participated in this pass have done a great job! We are getting close to the end already it has really moved! Chuck...the Sauza sticks were about $18.00 when I bought them many moons ago at a B&M...but the 5 x 50 version you can sometimes find online for $12.50 so the larger stick may be a little higher....the Nat Sherman Bench Rabito was bought at my B&M for I believe $12.50

Ahhh yeah easy to just forget or lose track...also yeah I'm guessing the box will get there before they are able to locate the tracking info. If Jackal gets the pass today just make sure you transition it to him in the pass screens. Appreciate you trying to track down the info!

Puts and takes have been submitted.  As far as what makes these "Special Occasion" I will give special mention to three of them

Camacho Diploma Series (Corojo Limited) Scorpion - The Diploma blend was arguably the best blend to come out of Camacho.  Unfortunately, they have tweaked it considerably.  The Scorpion is a very cool looking vitola, and I believe that the shape really does enhance the blends finer points.

La Aurora Preferidos Cameroon Robusto Limited Edition 2006 - This was the first release of the Preferidos in a Robusto format.  1200 initial boxes were made, and they are differentiated from the mass release by the phrase "DESDE 1903" on the band instead of the word "Cameroon".  La Aurora has never stated that they changed the blend, but these taste different to me and are my favorite release from them.

Trinidad Fundadores - Just a really great cigar (and cool because I love lanceros), and one that I enjoyed while lounging next to the pool at the Venetian at Big Smoke last year.

OK, I asked the question, then found it hard to resist knowing. So far all the puts have totaled 44 Cigars. I Internet priced them and so far found 41. Total value of puts thru Gregory is 635.74.

Very nice sticks indeed!! :thumbsup: Chuck...the Sauza sticks were about $18.00 when I bought them many moons ago at a B&M...but the 5 x 50 version you can sometimes find online for $12.50 so the larger stick may be a little higher....the Nat Sherman Bench Rabito was bought at my B&M for I believe $12.50 Thanks for putting that together! So I got this done, finally, thanks for your virtual patience!

The Monte Ed is a wonderful cigar, i bust this one out when i really think i deserved it. Had a few during a fantastic power ski trip to Hokkaido this year, it was almost as good as the snow.
The Cohiba Maduro smokes as good as you think it would, is a bit harder to find for me, and just puts me in the right place, everytime.
The Goldie 5 highlights some really nice parts of the blend that the 2 passed over, really like this one.
The Opus X Destino is firing on all cylinders right now, but also promises to age beautifully, kinda wish i could get more...

Thanks to Adam for letting me play in this one! I did my P/T's and transitioned the pass to Mojo. Just so you know, I had one of my puts incorrectly entered into my VH, it is the Perdomo Edicion de Silvio Toro NATURAL, not maduro. Sorry for the error!

My P/Ts are done, the package is already on it's way, tracking info is up to date. I've transitioned the pass to you Adam.

Since my puts are actually going to be Adam's cigars, I chose my puts according to his tastes and wish list more than anything. It just so happens that I had many he wanted and that some of the cigars have a meaning for me as well.

Here goes:

God of Fire Serie B 2011 Double Robusto: No story for that one, just wanted Adam to smoke it and make a "Special Occasion" out of it

Hoyo de Monterrey (Cuban) Epicure Especial: This is one of my celebration cigars. I've been a fan of HdM cigars and this is the same profile as the others I have or had, but it's a tad stronger and sometimes, that's just what I need

Montecristo (Cuban) No. 2: That was my dad's go to cigar. Although he was a pipe smoker he would always go for the Monte No.2 when smoking a cigar. He passed 20 years ago this month and this cigar reminds me of him

Bolivar (Cuban) Royal Coronas: With age (this one has more than 2 years) this is turning ot to be one of the best CC I've had. I smoked one last week and it stunned me how much better it had gotten since my last. Really a special cigar to me.

Partagas (Cuban) Série D No. 4: It's my brother's favourite cigar so anytime we get to see each other, about twice a year, we'll smoke one. It's just a great cigar.

Montecristo (Cuban) No. 4: One if not the most sold puro on the planet, makes for a glorious morning with a cup of coffee. Probably won't become your favourite smoke but you'll have smoked a No.4.


Hope you find my P/Ts acceptable, had a lot of fun playing and preparing for this pass. Thanks Adam. And be on the lookout, my package will "hit" you in about 5 days.

Got an update everyone....got my package from Jumberlack today so I officially have all the sticks for this pass, it's complete!!! I also shipped out Mojo"s sticks today so all TAKES are out! Total value as best as I can determine, thru MOJO is $991.68.  Average price per cigar was $16.26

This is purely an Internet search but trying to stay with the main stores as much as possible.
I think we can all agree we have seen some of the very best in cigars go thru this pass.
