The site seems quite slow and unstable from here I am sitting. Takes a while to load, especially the front page. Sometimes it times out completely, other times it gives an 404 or 503 error message.

Ya I have the same problem, I only assumed it was maintenance and it's come back up again later. The guys who run this site are really good, so if it is an actual problem, I'm sure it'll be worked out pronto! We just have to be patient, and greatful to our amazing admins.
I'm on with the hosting guys now. It is definitely slow this morning.

Ok. So it appears that the server is under a DDOS attack. The hosting guys moved it behind a packet filtering device which will make it slow for awhile until they can block the attack. Go figure.

Short version, send so many requests to a server that it overloads and is unable to respond to them all...
I'm still getting uneven results. Sometimes I can get on quickly and then the next time I try it takes forever to load.
Ya and all the sudden I am getting pop up's sometimes when I try and switch pages. Paul will get it fixed im sure. He's the man.
havent had any pop ups but it seems slower now that im at home and not at work using the pc. ( home internet is faster than at work)

Same, no timeouts, no errors, but

I am certain also it will get worked out. I was just checking if I was on my end as I have family members staying here so we have 3 extra devices hooked up to my WiFi. :-0
All seems to be back to normal. Good thing too since I have just started being able to use my right hand after an unfortunate mishap.
I'm back....and so is the site.
its been back and forth for me as to if it take 3-5 minutes to load or near instant like normal
Might have been a little too enthusiastic, the problem is still there although intermittent.
Thanks to the admins for all the work they put in, I know it's not always so easy, I was a sys admin for years and supported many web sites so I know that it can be a pain sometimes.

So i'm not sure why it is taking so long but they still have issues with the DDOS going on. It seems the device they put in front of the server is really making access slow. So until they can get the DDOS stopped we're stuck apparently. It does seem a lot better than before though.

(Didn't want to use that government agencies actual initials as they surely are watching for that too. They'll be knocking on my door in minutes just for posting this!)
